Yom Teruah began the ten days between it and the soon-coming most holy day of the year, Yom Kippur. Traditionally, these ten days are called the "Ten Days of Awe." They are a special time in which brothers are especially supposed to seek to make peace with brothers- because the "judgment" associated with Yom Kippur is coming.
This principle teaches us that in truth, to the greatest extent possible we want to make peace with all men before we stand before our King, Messiah Yeshua. We want to hear the Prince of Peace say to us, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
To help us during this time we are posting (ahead of time) some suggested prayer points for each of the ten days.
Like our forefathers in Egypt, if we truly want deliverance from the things that bind us we must first "cry out." YHVH will then hear our groaning and remember that we are His covenant people (Exo 2:23-24; 1 Pet 2:9-10). We must sincerely desire restoration for the whole house and let that desire be made known in Heaven and in the earth. Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please YHVH, so we need to pray with faith, believing that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb 11:6). We need to truly cry out to Him and ask for the changes that we need, both personally and as a Body.
In my feast book we offer ten suggested prayers (along with the verse references from which the ideas were taken). There is one section for each of the Ten Days of Awe (see chapter 29, "Ten Days of Prayer"). These prayers especially focus on Israel's restoration and reunion.
A similar, less extensive list is likewise available in the now out of print book, E&J, IR; although out of print this handy book is available in a PDF format (see "Prayer Points" pages 34-37). You may download a free copy at Key of David Marketplace.
Finally, we want to suggest that you listen to a new song, written by me and recorded by my friend, Will Spires. The song is titled "I AM YHVH" and it is truly inspiring. You might want to listen to it before you pray. The song is about the Father's heart cry for His chosen people: Judah and Ephraim. You can hear it at
Zachariah's Patrol website or Key of David Marketplace, and it is available at as a free download at Key of David Marketplace.
Prayer Points for Day 5:
Pray for the safety and
well-being of those of Judah who have returned to the Promised Land;
pray their hearts will be turned toward their fathers and that angels
will be given charge over them (Isa 11:11; Luke 1:17; Psa 91:11). Pray
that even as the Father has gathered for a second time the dispersed of
Judah, He will restore their fortunes. Pray that the Father possess
Judah as His portion in the holy land, and again choose Jerusalem. Pray
that He enter into judgment with those who harass Judah and Jerusalem.
Pray that Judah might be healed of the hurts she experienced in her
dispersion (Isa 11:11-13; Joel 3:1-2; Zec 2:12). Batya batya@mim.net
