Repent America is thankful for police officers like Corporal Steven Armbruster for protecting constitutional freedom. In October 2007, RA was visiting Kutztown University as part of its annual pro-life campus tour and was witnessing to a group of students when the university's president told the police chief that he wanted the ministry removed from campus. However, Corporal Armbruster disobeyed the chief's orders and instead defended the ministry's constitutional right to free speech by refusing to silence the preaching of the Gospel. As a result, he was suspended without pay for five days. 

Soonafter, Corporal Armbruster filed a federal lawsuit against the university and received an unfavorable outcome. Click here to read WorldNetDaily's article about Armbruster v. Cavanaugh. Following this, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the lower court's ruling that the Constitution does not guarantee rights for police officers to disobey unlawful orders, nor are there any constitutional safeguards from disciplinary action. Further appeal and other legal options are currently being weighed to continue this important fight.

Lifting Up the King of Kings on Martin Luther King Day 

  

Repent America recently joined other evangelists in traveling to Washington, D.C. to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on Martin Luther King Day. During the outreach, the ministry team engaged in open-air preaching near the National Monument, as well as the Smithsonian, which houses a number of abominable "art" exhibits, including the evolutionary "Hall of Human Origins," as well as paintings that depict homosexuality, incest and blasphemy against Christ. 

  

Despite unsuccessful attempts by police to shut down the preaching, RA had a wonderful time proclaiming the Word of God at the nation's capital. Please pray that the seeds that were planted will take root, and that those that heard the Gospel will be led to repentance and will put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
