I have been thinking a lot about muscles of late. This is because I am noticing I have them for the first time in a long long time. So this is prompting me to ponder what I am doing right. Years ago, for a brief chunk of my life, I got kind of "buff": at least for me I should say. In those days I was living down in Mill Valley, riding my bike a short hop to the gym most days, where I would use the weight machines, the eliptical, and then I would ride home. I also did a Zumba-like workout in between those days, so actually not too different from the routine I have now. I was a reasonably healthy weight and felt great. Life intervened and I eventually moved past this regimen, 20 lbs came back on, and those lovely muscular arms and calves which I had noticed in photos just a year before, were nowhere to be found. That was probably the early 90's, so a long time ago. But now the muscles are back and there is an aha as to why this is the case. READ MORE

For those calorie counters out there, here is a device you wear which keeps track of how many calories you intake and how many you burn...wow! This is an IndiGogo campaign (crowd-sourced funding) so if you buy one you contribute to their campaign. Kind of a nice concept...
