Hello Readers!

It feels so good to have the festival finished and get my life back. A big thanks to those of you who came out and hopefully enjoyed the festival this year.

I know many of you have work or life situations which engulf you for a period of time and then when they are over you feel as though an elephant has been lifted off your shoulders. That's me right now...I feel so light!

I wanted to take the opportunity in this blog to share some discoveries I have made during this period of time preparing for my big event.

One thing which was a big "aha" is that I am noticing
more and more people are looking to eat in a healthy way, but even if they are not, they can be made to do so! What do I mean? Check it out...

I have been using Pinterest to find all the most recent recipes, and have not been disappointed. These two really piqued my interest...

I know many of you are eating gluten free or really trying to cut back on carbs. I loved this idea of "breadless" sandwiches.

DESK EXERCISE
Suzie in Santa Rosa casually mentioned her Desk Treadmill to me the other day, and I was shocked! I had never heard of such a thing! What a fantastic idea for those of us stuck at a desk day in and day out. Here is an article on making one yourself, or you can buy them pre-made.

BIKER CHICKS!!

 
You have that darned bike in the garage and you never use it. You used to ride years ago but you're afraid to try it after all these years. But you've just read my missive above and you KNOW the secret to losing weight and keeping it off is to move: really move...And that bike could be a smart way to do it. But how do you begin?

Next weekend, on September 8th, the Biker Chicks will ride again! This group of women, many of whom are older and not especially skilled or active riders, will gather and go for a fun, flat ride as a group, which they do once a month. They ride on a trail, not the road, and there are a lot of them...safety in numbers. If there is one secret to getting hooked into bicycling it is to go with many people. You will not believe how much fun this will be and how far you will go when you go with them.
