Hello Readers! Many of you might notice that I am creating this newsletter in a new format. I will explain why...
I showed it for the first time to a friend whose opinion I trust, and she gave me lots of feedback which was quite valuable. Here are a few of her comments, summed up: it is too long, not clear as to the focus, and why all the pictures? She also suggested a table of contents. Sooo...here I am playing with a new template, which includes an aforementioned content section, and am looking at this newsletter with a new set of eyes. But here is where I need your help, readers. Many of you have been getting this newsletter since its beginnings back in 2007. It has evolved and changed from a vehicle to announce Weight Watchers meeting information to something else...Something which is a collection of all the interesting, colorful, health/weight-related and not health/weight-related stuff which comes across my desk on any given week.
Yes, I make sure the newsletter keeps you all up to date on the health news which is rife on the internet. But since I am so visually oriented, being an artist, I cannot help putting in lots of images. Since I love humor, and find it quite healing in its own way, I like to include humor in videos or other avenues. Hence the newsletter has gone beyond health/weight in orientation and into something much broader and undefined.
The question I have for all of you is...does this work? Is the newsletter too long and is it confusing in its lack of clear focus? Or is this what makes it different from others like it out there?
What would you like to see me add/subtract, or do you like it as is? Does a table of contents with links help? I do this for you all so help me out and give me good, solid feedback.
I also welcome feedback on any content. One person was upset with me for publishing 2 articles discussing marijuana. My guess is there were more who did not write and tell me this, but felt the same. TELL ME! I love hearing from all of you, good or bad. I really need you to give me direction.
And let me thank you all for taking the time every couple of weeks to read what is here. I so enjoy sharing with all of you, and just want to make sure that I am creating a compelling newsletter which you cannot wait to find in your inbox every other Sunday morning!

AFRICAN GIRL BARGAINS WITH HER DAD AND CHANGES HER VILLAGE
Okay, here is a perfect example of how I stray off the topic of weight/health and throw in something off-the-wall.
This charming animated piece has an amazing message about women taking their power and making a world of difference. The way I see it, this IS about health...mental health! If this story makes you feel good or feel empowered (the desire to be) then it is impacting you in a positive way. You watch it and decide!

BACK TO THE FOOD INDUSTRY...

Scientific America recently published this little "guest blog". Funny and educational, and no doubt factual as well. Do you want to support these guys? Just keep walking down that grocery aisle and piling your cart high with processed foods, and you're doing just that!

I was so happy to read this article about cellulite. I remember an old friend insisting all the working out she did kept her from getting any, but no matter how much I did, mine did not go away. Now I know why! This is well worth reading if you suffer from "cellulite blues"...
