My family has a Thanksgiving Holiday tradition of going around the table and stating what we are grateful for. I have a long list of things I am grateful for including my health, family, friends and having plenty of food to share. What will you state you are grateful for?
Have You Heard the Latest on KidneyTalk?
Harrison House: A Home Away From Home
Finding a place to stay to get evaluated for a kidney transplant, to train for home dialysis, or to recover from surgery is difficult or unaffordable for people who live some distance from where they receive care. In 1973, Crawford Harrison, a patient himself, saw the need and wanted to help. Almost 30 years later, Bobby Walker, who has a kidney transplant, manages Harrison House and tells us about this great home and the services it offers to people in need in the Little Rock, Arkansas, area.

Emergency Diet Preparations
3-Day Emergency Meal Plan

(Courtesy of Network 18)
With extreme weather happening from coast to coast, we want to make sure people on dialysis know what food they need to have if they are stuck in-doors. Please keep in mind this is an emergency diet, to be used when you won't have access to care for a few days.

Feel free to download, print and take it to the grocery so you add these items to your emergency preparation kit.

I was surprised to see that Black Friday now starts on Thanksgiving. I went out shopping once on Black Friday and my words are "never again." Not to mention all the germs floating around. You are risking your life for something you probably don't need. Cyber Monday will follow so if you need to shop, best to search online than risk the stampede.

Sincerely,
