New! LoveLife
LoveLife bracelet
Honoring Love
Love is life's greatest experience. You're less inclined to take life for granted when you survive a serious illness. This bracelet is dedicated to all the people I share my life with, including Dean, my husband of 15 years, who has given me an anniversary card every month since we've been married.

February 13, 2013
Greetings!

TopI don't know about you, but I haven't always had a reason to celebrate Valentine's Day. There have been times in my life when instead of feeling warm and fuzzy, all it brought on was anxiety (especially when I didn't have a valentine). If that's where you are now, please listen to my interview with Mark Meier, you're not alone. And if you're looking for an inexpensive gift, how about making your own chocolate covered strawberries? I threw in something for you hopeless romantics too.
Have You Heard the Latest on KidneyTalk?

Kidney disease presents a number of stressful situations that can lead to feelings of anxiety. How do you know that it's time to seek help? Mark Meier, MSW, is the Founder and Executive Director of the Face It Foundation. He explains what the symptoms are and how to determine if they are affecting your life or your health care. In addition to providing some tips on coping with anxiety, he asserts that "you owe it to yourself to deal with it." You, your family, and your health care providers will all benefit.

Every story has a beginning as does every relationship. For Cyndi and me, it began in high school after I had been diagnosed with glomular nephritis at the age of 15. We met at our church's youth group and I have always said that she had me from "Hello."
