OK, it's confession time!

Since I became a proud Health Coach 6 years ago, I have not only transformed my own health,
(click here to read my Personal Story)
but I have had the honor of guiding
dozens of women to embrace better
health and lifestyle choices as well.
(click here to read what my Clients have said)

It is amazing ~ simple changes
really can impact important results:

from reversing illness and
decreasing the reliance on medications,
to improving digestion, increasing energy, and finding joy, clarity and balance.

But what happens when
you STOP taking care of yourself?

What happens when
you "SLIP", or are "BAD"?

I have just found out . . . and it's a great lesson, one that needs to be shared!

CONFESSION TIME:

During the month of March, I had a visitor
(a very welcome visitor, but a visitor nonetheless).
As a result, I totally deviated
from my regular routine and ended up:

Not going to the gym
Not sleeping well or regularly
Drinking too much (organic) wine
Not sticking to my regular approach to eating
Eating sweets that I had given up years ago
Slipping a bit of oil into my dressings!!!

SO this is what happened:

As a result of not going to the gym,
my legs began to get achy and
the jiggles started to return to other parts.

Also, I did not sleep as well because my body was not exercising properly during the day.

To compound that, wine at night will always either keep you up, or wake you up around 3 a.m.

AND, as a result of sloppy eating,
I now weigh more than I have ever weighed!

Added sugars and oils will do that!

At 52 years old and only 5'2",
I really can't afford the extra pounds
(they're not easy to hide on a small frame).

My whole adult life I have toggled
between 110 and 114 pounds,
but in weighing in last night, I was at - ready???

Honestly, I am not nor have I ever been
obsessed with the number on the scale.
In fact, I think scales are for fish.

But I have to say - this was a bit of a shock.
Afterall, I'm a Health Counselor!

I shouldn't be gaining weight
while my clients are losing weight.
I shouldn't be idle
while my clients are moving,
and I shouldn't be "bad"
while my clients are doing their best to do so well.

But . . . there it is. It happened.
And it's been a wonderful lesson:

TAKING CARE OF OURSELVES
IS A LIFETIME COMMITMENT.

So, here is my 5-Step Plan of Action, and one that might work well for you too, starting TODAY:

No more sugar, wine or oil.

Instead, begin the day as I used to:
1). A cup of hot water with lemon, or room temperature water with lemon and cayenne.

2). Drink 60 ounces of water throughout the day,
and flavor with various herbs and fruits for fun.

3). Spend 5-10 minutes Rebounding each morning, then get back to the gym and move this body.

4). Get to bed no later than 10:00 p.m.

5). Return to Healthy Eating:
Breakfast Smoothie with Greens
Lunch Salad with Whole Grains
Dinner Soup with Legumes
Snack on peas, edamame, freshly cut veggies, whole fruits, green juices, kale chips,
potato skins, nori snacks.

Preparation is key to success.
Today I spent the day preparing healthy options:

Wash, cut and refrigerate fresh fruits and
veggie sticks for accessibility and beauty.

Display hard fruits and veggies in bowls around the house for encouragement and color.

Set your mind to self-care and self-love.
Prioritize your health and well-being by
taking the time to get set for success.

Stay tuned for next month's Newsletter and a follow-up to turning this "slip" into a success!
