Christine Warren ~ Transformational Training and Counseling
Christine Warren - Transformational Training and Counseling: Specializing in life Transitions, Vision and Metaphysics
Dear (Contact First Name),
Late Summer Greetings!

"There is no way. You make the way by walking out on it."
-Antonio Machado

When we're going through big transitions, sometimes we can't see the way to go. We struggle to hear our inner truth.  In my teachings on Change, I've named this fertile time "The Mystery". Rumi tells us what to do in those times in his poem "Zero Circle":

Be helpless, dumbfounded,
Unable to say yes or no.
Then a stretcher will come from grace
To gather us up.

...So let us not be sure of anything,
Besides ourselves, and only that, so
Miraculous beings come running to help.
Crazed, lying in a zero circle, mute,
We shall be saying finally,
With tremendous eloquence, Lead us.
When we have totally surrendered to that beauty,
We shall be a mighty kindness.
-Rumi

NEW PROGRAM: Open to new participants and those who have enjoyed my Navigating Change retreats in the past.

"I am so grateful for the Navigating Change workshop at Kripalu that you gave all of us. It amazes me how seemingly effortlessly you can take a group of hesitant, wounded, intelligent, powerful adults to a place within us that allows such deep inquiry and change. Your openness, your knowing, your kindness and love are so powerful. I am in awe of your gift and in appreciation for your sharing it with me and my fellow travelers. This wonderful weekend with you will be a part of me for a long time."

REBECCA'S TIGER
"Better to live one year as a tiger than a hundred as a sheep."
-Madonna

Rebecca  called me 8 years ago for a 3 day Personal Retreat Intensive in my retreat cottage. She shared feelings of low self esteem, her reliance on anti-depressants and drugs to sleep, and the persistent feeling that something was out of whack in her life. She described times of emotionally falling apart and feeling she was a big mess. But I saw something different inside of the sweet, shaky woman with long strawberry-blonde hair sitting before me. I saw a strong, bright woman, full of vigor and intelligence and spunk, just waiting to be recognized and invited into the room.

"I've had nightmares about a tiger coming after me for years", she said. "I'm running terrified, the tiger on my heels. The tiger chases me into my house, where I hide inside a cabinet, afraid to come out."

"What do tigers mean to you?" I asked.

"Power, danger. Excitement. Bigness. They've so alive but also scary", Rebecca said, revealing her fear of her own power and bigness of self.

"Sometimes figures in dreams are important soul friends wanting to help us grow, even if they feel terrifying. Let's chat with this tiger and see what he has to say," I invited her.  "What might your tiger say if you turned around and met him?"

"Well, he'd say, 'It's about time we met...' "

Now you are standing in the center of the road, at an intersection in your life, wondering what has happened and what you are to do next. Something that you identified with as your life is over. Someone you cared deeply for has died or has moved on in some form, or a job you thought was your lifeblood has vanished, or a home in which you thought you would end your life sitting on the front porch has been sold due to some financial blockage or shifts in your personal finance or in the times you inhabit. You feel a hole where your life used to be. You are standing in this empty space of the hole, and you are at an intersection.

Now envision if you will quite literally this intersection of your life. There is your past as you have lived it. That road stretches back behind you; you will never walk that road again. This reality may give you feelings of sadness or despair, or gratitude, or resentment for what did not take place, but whatever your emotional responses, that road is passed and past, both.  Looking into the past of your passed road is what you are dealing with right now: the divorce, the death, the job loss, the shift, the aging process, the relocation, whatever your predicament is presenting itself as. It has landed you here in this crossroads.

Sit down for a bit and regard the terrain with love. Breathe out fear. Let it all be perfect, the path and the people and the life you have created and chosen so far to bring you here to this precise intersection where you now sit, perplexed or excited or lost or whatever you are feeling. You are here, here, here.  In fact, here is the only place you have ever been, here in the moment, and here is where you will spend the rest of your human incarnation, so learning to inhabit your Hereness is a wonderful tool that serves you. And breath is the way. Take a deep full breath in and say, "I am here. And here is good. Here is safe. Here is where I wish to be and need to be right now."

This is the time of taking stock.
