NEWS YOU CAN USE (NYCU)

July Issue, Production Schedule, and Usage Data

This month's News You Can Use (NYCU) is now available in Constant Contact subscriber accounts in the email drafts folder and on CKBrand.com > PR > 2014 News You Can Use (NYCU). This month's topics are Falls: High Costs and Steeper Risks, COPD: Improving Quality of Life through Self-management, and Sweet Dreams: Managing Sleep Changes in Older Adults.

At the request of franchisees, we are moving the production schedule up for the NYCU so that articles will be released by the 15th of each month. We hope this helps you with your PR planning and media schedules.

We are also pleased to report that NYCU usage is strong. Since April 1, when we began refreshing the articles and newsletter, over 70 franchisees have distributed the NYCU to more than 33,000 recipients globally. Please feel free to continue providing your feedback on the NYCU. We want to make this the best possible resource to use with your referral sources.

If you have any questions about the NYCU, please contact Lisa Marie Hayes, Communications Manager, at LisaMHayes@ComfortKeepers.com.

TIME IS ON YOUR SIDE

Get Your Feed Seniors Now® Food Drive Campaign Rolling

Feed Seniors Now® food drive campaigns can help your local office make a difference in your community. To run a successful, well-planned food drive campaign, you should start planning now, two to three months before your event. This allows you sufficient time to plan your promotional calendar and set up your contacts so you can take full advantage of publicity, press releases, and advertising mediums. It also gives you enough time to work on your relationships with local or national food banks and help determine where to set up food drive bins. For more information, download the Feed Seniors Now food drive planning timeline.

Order Collateral

If you haven't yet ordered your customized posters and materials, you can do so through the SMARTworks® website, and you can access branded collateral such as print ads, posters, and so forth on Members > CK Brand > Programs  > Feed Seniors Now. Order your materials today.

Share Your Ideas

Tell us about your local food drive, and we will help promote it! Click here to share events you are planning for 2014, and we will include them on our Senior Nutrition page on ComfortKeepers.com. Our goal this year is to help you continue to grow this great, community service initiative in your local markets this September.

Be sure to connect with your community by sharing your initiatives on Facebook. "Like" the Feed Seniors Now Facebook page and Feed Seniors Now will "like" your Comfort Keepers® office page. Connecting with your community through service not only helps those in need, but sets your office apart from all the rest.

WEBSITE UPDATES

Five Steps You Can Take to Optimize Your Website

Want to make your website stand out in the online crowd? Here are five actions you can do right now to impact your website traffic:

  1. Update your "home" page with your local flavor and add keywords that will help your page show up in Google/Bing search results.
  2. Update your "about us" page with your local flavor and other keywords that are not included on your home page.
  3. Build a "locations" section within your website to highlight areas you serve. Be sure to include your local knowledge for those areas and any other important local keywords related to your services and target audience.
  4. Optimize your Google Local and Google+ listings. Link Google Local and Google+ with the same email address and ensure you include keywords in your profile.
  5. Keep an eye on and take action based on Google Analytics data.

If you have any questions about your website, please contact Angela Hammond, Senior Digital Marketing Manager, at AngelaHammond@ComfortKeepers.com.
