Greetings!

I've taken a break from this newsletter for a few months, but I miss you guys. I'm back.

If you are looking to interview for a promotion, or you're seeking a whole new job, these next four issues might help you with that interview.

MEANWHILE: Just for booking a regular Four Windows workshop, somebody in your organization will get a free weekend in Sedona next Spring Break.

Persuade a Green Job Interviewer

  Impress my mind.

If you think you should "just be yourself" in an interview, think again. Our own precious values and strengths are not shared by lots of people -- and I don't care how wonderful you think you are.

Here is what a job interviewer who happens to be a Green rational is looking for. Greens are "experts", after all.

1. What do you know?

2. Who do you know?

3. Are you a logical, critical thinker?

4. What have you created?

5. Are you an interesting person - thoroughly engaged in life?

6. Will the interviewer learn something new from you?

7. Are you trustworthy?

8. How good, how deep -- really -- is your portfolio?

9. Are you a team player?

10. Can you accomplish great things without having your hand held?

Four Types of Interviewers

The handy list above focused on Green "Expert" interviewers. In the next three weeks, you can expect to hear about the other three: The Careful Gold, The Impulsive Orange, and The Idealistic Blue.

The Careful. 45% of Interviewers.

1. Who else knows you?

2. How respected and respectful are you?

3. Do you think concretely?

4. Do I get real value here?

The Impulsive. 30% of Interviewers.

1. Can you get your hands dirty?

2. Will I get fast action from you?

3. Can I let you run with the ball?

4. Can this interview be quick?

The Idealist. 15% of Interviewers.

1. How warm and friendly are you?

2. Do people come first?

3. Are everybody's ideas welcome?

4. Do you have integrity and do you believe in a business with integrity?

The Expert. 10% of Interviewers.

1. What do you know?

2. How smart are you?

3. Where's the meat?

4. Are you worthy of my time?

Why is this all important? In brief, do your words, tone and body language convey positive respect for the values, needs, and strengths of each of the four types?
