President's Message
Emily Pataki

                                      Emily

Greetings Republicans!

As summer draws to a close, I notice that a lot has changed in the Texas political landscape over the course of the last few months.  Our governor, Rick Perry, has decided not to run for reelection in 2014; the Texas Legislature passed a groundbreaking pro-life law during a hotly contested second special session; and the Supreme Court upheld Texas voting laws in a historic ruling that is sure to effect the outcome of future elections.  We are in the midst of an important era in Texas history where the efforts of conservatives like yourselves will be crucial in steering our state through some difficult times.  The victories we have won are sure to be contested by our liberal counterparts, and the changes in leadership are so important that it is vital we all get involved to make sure our next round of statewide officials continue to lead us in the direction of liberty and freedom.  I look forward to working with you in advocating constitutional principles here in Williamson County and throughout our great state in the times ahead.

In club news, the WCRW has a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months.  On August 21st we will co-host our freshman senator, Ted Cruz, with the GARW in what is sure to be an exciting luncheon.  In September we will be having a new member event to attract some fresh faces to our club.  Stay tuned for more details, and in the meantime be thinking of who you would like to invite.  I challenge every member to invite one guest - can you imagine how much more good we could effect if the WCRW doubled in size?!  It's an exciting prospect.  In October we will have our second annual birthday party to commemorate our 36th year as a club.  If you came last year, you will remember how much fun we had - you won't want to miss this chance to kick back and have fun with your fellow Republicans!

I look forward to seeing you at one or several of these upcoming events, and in the meantime, I encourage you to keep doing your part to promote conservative causes and our Party here in Williamson County.

Sincerely,
Emily Pataki
President

Social Update

What a fun event we had in July!  We met at Water 2 Wine.  Our group was so diverse we ended up deciding to go with one red and one white wine.  We'll go back in a little over a month to bottle it up!  The staff was so helpful and informative - I highly recommend this to anyone for future group fun!

Our next social event will be at Jack Allen's Kitchen for dinner out on September 12th at 6pm!  Please RSVP by the link below so we know how many to make a reservation for.
