| Our yummy $20 Farmer Pick box this week. |
October! Fall for real now. Sigh. Late Summer crops are wrapping up and Greens Season has begun. To celebrate we are highlighting delicious and nutritious Kale with our Weekly Recipe of Cheesy Mac and Greens (one of our all-time favorites and apparently our Members', too!). The Soup & Salad box with Will's Potato Leek Soup was a hit this week so we'll include that recipe, too. Speaking of Leeks, they arrived in a little bit different size than we expected! We thought they would be a bunch of 3-4 smaller Leeks but instead they came as one LARGE Leek per "bunch". They weigh about a pound each so we went ahead and sent them and of course we tasted them and they are delicious! Everything else went just fine for orders, enjoy!
Automatic Farmer Pick Ordering
We have an exciting new option for ordering, this came from suggestions we have received for some time and we figured out how to make it work on our end. Of course some of the best things that make our Online Market unique are the Custom Choice ordering, ability to switch Pickup Locations with each order and only ordering when you want to get a box. However, we have folks say they would like have a more traditional automatic order so we now have
10-week Farmer Pick ordering options! The straight story here is the ten weeks of deliveries begin when you place the first order and they will be automatically delivered each week to the same Pickup Location. Sorry but we can't alter the 10-week set up in our system so if you go out of town you need to have a friend pick up your box for you. What it does do is take the pressure off of remembering to order. Cool, huh? Hope this helps to make one more way it's easier for you to enjoy the Good Food coming from our group of Farmer Friends!

Pickup Location Changes
So we are working on final details for Cox Communications to start weekly deliveries! We're super excited about this since we had great support there in the past but needed a better system for pickups. We are almost ready to announce the new plan but in the meantime we need to make some room in the delivery route to accommodate for a big new site. Some of our wonderful Pickup Locations have been skating by for a while now with only a few Members supporting them. If you want to keep the following locations we need to know it ASAP. Place your orders and tell your friends. Strangely enough only one of our New Members last week was for an endangered site! Let us know if you want some coupons to give out, too. We have had some terrific responses so far but we need to know if you want us to keep these locations:
- Smyrna Grateful Bread - 2 new folks, hopefully more next week!
- Atlanta Community Food Bank - four orders this week.
- Tucker Mother Nature's - sorry, we had to remove from deliveries
- East Cobb Cooks Warehouse - Getting a lot of emails about this one. . .
- Emory University - yay, eleven orders for Thursday!
- Clifton Schools - so sad, last week was final deliveries.
- Garrison Afterschool - Just 2 orders again help spread the word in VaHi!

Weekly Recipes
Cheesy Mac & Greens
This one just never gets old, in fact it's one of our go-to comfort dishes that always pleases even the pickiest non-Greens eater! To save space here is the link to the previous Newsletter with the recipe. Will's Potato Leek Soup You can gild this soup with the addition of cream and/or grated cheese. We put a bit of the Wright Dairy Wine Washed Aged Fontina and it was delectable!
1. Wash, trim and dice 3 pounds Potatoes, 1-2 Leeks and 1/2 pound Carrots. (No need to peel organically grown roots unless you don't like the texture.) 2. Heat 4T Olive Oil in a soup pot, add veggies and season with salt/pepper. Cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. When veggies are just getting a little tender add 4-6 cups of liquid (we use ½ water and ½ Chicken Broth). 3. Simmer for 30 minutes, check for seasoning and add washed chopped Parsley to taste. Use an immersion blender or food processor to blend the soup to desired consistency (Will likes it creamier and Laurie likes it chunkier!).
