Moore Farms
Our Orders This Week!
We hope everyone enjoyed a happy and delicious Thanksgiving, we missed you all! Thank you SO much to everyone for your emails, Facebook posts, cards, prayers and healing thoughts as we were dealing with the loss of Will's mom. We were able to spend time with friends and family for the holiday and that helped a lot. So many of you let us know how much you love her potholders, she would be so proud!

  "Eat Your Radishes!"

Pink Beauties from this week's boxes.

Some folks love them, some don't and others just say they don't know what to do with them. Here are some farm tips: use Radishes any way you would a Carrot (really!). They are great raw but also terrific cooked. Some are more hot than others mainly due to variety and growing conditions. If you get some that are too hot cooking them will mellow out the flavor.

This great blurb was sent in to us by Member Max Watkins,

she found it in Emory's Dragon Bowl restaurant newsletter and we loved it!

4 Ways To Fight the Funk

Achew!  The "funk" is going around. How can you stay healthy to enjoy the holiday season? Radishes to the rescue! Here are 4 ways that eating this superfood will help you survive the brutal winter sick season:

1. Soothes Sore Throat - Fighting a cold? Radishes will naturally relieve your throat.

2. Clears Sinuses - The spice & bold flavor acts as a natural decongestant.

3. Prevents Viral Infections - Due to its high concentration of Vitamin C & natural cleansing effects, radishes help keep you healthy, avoiding all the nasty viral infections that go around.

4. Fights Fever - Consuming radishes will help lower your body temperature. You'll feel better in no time!

Lull in Egg Production
A regular size egg next to one of the first eggs laid by a young hen (pullet): they are super small at first but get bigger each day!
So we wanted to be sure you all knew that our Egg farms are all seeing a dip in production after the recent chilly weather. It's looking better each week as our young hens are starting to lay and we have added a new local producer to the mix. **Because  of the seasonal shortage we ask everyone to please be sweet and limit your order to two dozen. THANK YOU!**

Holiday Schedule and Pickup Location Heads-up!
This year we will be off entirely for the two weeks of December 22nd and 29th because the holidays fall smack
in the middle of the week!

Site Changes: we are looking at making some changes to our Pickup Locations after the first of the year. Both Clifton School
Locations have been well below the 10 orders per week we need to cover our delivery costs. Hopefully folks will catch on! Orders for both schools this week reached the 10 minimum! Thanks for helping spread the word as we don't want to lose these great locations.
Georgia Tech Campus: We are getting requests again for a campus pickup, if you know of any opportunities to host us let us know! GA Tech was one of our most popular sites before we had to drop it due to construction and the loss of our site coordinator. If you have any other site requests for the Metro Atlanta area let us know about those, too. We'll be re-routing after the first of the year!
From the Farmers
We are very proud to bring our farm harvests to your family's table and we always want to know what you think about what we do. Send us your recipes, pictures and stories and thank you for supporting your local food system!
