I enjoy the opportunity to communicate with many of you on a regular basis. Overwhelmingly, I am hearing from you how busy you are. Some would think of it as a problem, but I like to look at it as an opportunity. Of course it's an opportunity to increase your business and revenue. It's also a time to look at current processes and workflow. Every day you should be asking yourself, "Is there a better way for us to handle this?" I would encourage you to look at our previous Tip of the Week blog posts and to also call on your Customer Care rep to help answer this question.
I remember a couple of tasks that would cause more than a little work when hiring ramped up.
Applications. A necessary evil. Many of you already have online applications. If you don't, you might want to ask the person that is entering them every day what they think about it. If you do, make sure you are using it to the fullest. Can applicants access the application outside of the office? Are you getting all the information you need to make a decision on whether or not to bring them in for an interview? The online application allows for prescreening (or knockout questions). Many of you use a "pre application", which this could take the place of. Interview questions can also be set up to flow back into the core application. Think about what you want to know about the candidate prior to interviewing them. Now, let them answer it for you. It's a great way of screening candidates for written communication skills too!
Mass Fill/Mass End. Many of you are filling a large quantity of assignments each day. Rather than filling them one at a time, check out QuickPlace. If you do mass assignments, this may be your new favorite hangout. QuickPlace can be accessed through hotkeys or from your Start Page under Actions. Using Active Available, Candidates or AutoMatch, select the Employee Names you want to assign to the order.

Once selected, click on Actions and choose Mass Assignment. All the info is pulled over from the order for each Employee Name. You are free to change this (if you have permission) on a one off basis. It's a great way to quickly assign numerous Employees to one order.

When you need to remove multiple Employee's from an assignment, go to the Order and click on Actions. Select End Order Assignment. A list of all the active assignments will pop up. Select those that you want to close and the default End Date, End Reason and Performance. Remember, these can be changed on a one off basis as well.

If you haven't heard about QuickPlace, or would like to know more about it, join us for a free webinar on February 14th at 1 p.m. Central. Click here to register.
