This prayer request was posted back in early March on the Moriel website - below is the request and update.

Moriel and Jacob request prayer for Brother Aeron Morgan, former General Secretary of the Assemblies of God in both The UK and Australia and former principle of the Assemblies of God Southern Cross Bible College. Aeron is one of the few Pentecostal leaders who left his long standing relationship with the Assemblies of God after that movement departed from The Word of God and The God of The Word into the popular maelstrom of hype, pop psychology and mysticism that has replaced the doctrine and spirituality of traditional scriptural Pentecostalism and the entertainment that has replaced worship.  

Aeron is in semi palliative care in Australia near Brisbane and requires prayer as a manner of some urgency. We also request that his wife and family be remembered.

Another former leader who left mainstream Pentecostalism is former Australia General Secretary of The Assemblies of God Philip Powell who withstood the counterfeit revivals from Toronto & Pensacola and opposed the financial scandals and sex scandals of Hillsong. Philip, who pastors a church near Brisbane and who directs CWM (a partner ministry of Moriel) has been diagnosed with a tumor that is being biopsied next week. We do request prayer that it will prove benign.

HEALTH REPORT - Philip Powell:
In early February, (2013) just prior to a planned trip to New Zealand my GP told me that my PSA reading had risen during the previous fifteen months from a level of around 6 to 9 and he advised that I see a urologist after our trip.
We have in our files a letter dated 11 August 1995 from a Hamilton (NZ) based urologist, where we lived at the time, to our then GP in which he identified "a low grade adenocarcinoma" in one of six biopsies in my prostate. At the time I had a planned ministry trip overseas, which I performed.
After the trip a letter dated February 20, (1996) to the same GP indicated that a further biopsy showed no malignancy. About ten years ago I had what is called a turps and once more I was declared free of malignancy.
So it was with some sense of confidence that I presented myself to my urologist who, after several tests, detected cancer in my prostate and some secondaries in my bones, which he advised would be treated other than by removal of the prostate.
At this stage we have elected for a second opinion by another highly respected urologist based in Brisbane, Australia. We have arranged to see Dr. Glen Wood at his rooms on Wednesday April 3, 2013. Our second son David, who is a Presbyterian minister based in northern NSW is flying in to drive Kathleen and me for the appointment at 10am local time.

Colossians 4:5 - Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

The On-Line Bible advises that the word "redeeming" signifies - "to make wise and sacred use of every opportunity for doing good, so that zeal and well doing are as it were the purchase money by which we make the time our own."

Our prayer is that in everything the Lord Jesus Christ will be praised and that His will be done in every situation. Both Kathleen and I felt a desire that our medical advisers should be sincerely witnessed to in respect of our faith in the Lord Jesus and that they may be saved.
Clearly they can help in respect of this human life, but ONLY our Lord Jesus, who is Lord of life and death can help in respect of Eternal Life. Please pray to this end. All our lives are in His Hands.

HEALTH REPORT - Aeron Morgan:
Dear brother Aeron survived a major operation for the removal of a large malignant tumour on his brain last July (2012).
At the time he and his wife Dinah were living on the Sunshine Coast where they have retained their family home.
He is now transferred to a palliative care section of a private hospital on the Gold Coast, which is a marvellous provision and an answer to prayer as this puts him and his dear wife Dinah very close to their eldest daughter, Angela and their elder son Michael and their families.
The grand children were able to visit "grandpa" in hospital and share his 79th birthday cake together, on March 25, which coincidentally was our own eldest son, Stephen's birthday.

As many will know Aeron is my best friend in the ministry. We have known each other from before Kathleen's and my wedding. In fact Aeron was our "best man" on July 30th 1966 and we knew each other before then - so some 47 plus years in all.
We have done many things together in the ministry from touring parts of Europe and Britain, to working in Bible College alongside of each other to the more recent CWM Conferences in Australia and USA, plus of course our close links as fellow elders at CWM-Fellowship.
To observe his suffering following his operation for the removal of a brain tumour has been heart rending. Things have not improved.
I spoke to him on his birthday and his voice was a mere whisper, which apparently is the way things are now. Nonetheless he is vibrant in faith and constantly mouthing prayer and praise.

Dinah told me that when he learned of my own prostate tumour and complications she could see his concern as his lips moved in obvious intercession.
Please pray that this dear faithful servant of the Lord will not suffer unduly and that unless the Lord raises him up, which He is well able to do, our dear brother, colleague and friend will have an abundant entry into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ as and when God determines.

In drafting this e-mailer I am very conscious of the fact that many of you, who receive it and many others known to us, are going through as deep if not deeper waters than we are.
Our hearts go out to all such.

As a young preacher I recall the late Billy Richards, pastor and evangelist telling the story of a crowd of early Salvation Army people meeting in Australia and awaiting a message from their General Booth founder of the SA, who was unable to attend the gathering. Eventually the message came through.
It was just one word - OTHERS.
That one word characterised the lives of the early Salvation Army people and their leaders. It is a passion that must motivate all of us.
As Paul the apostle expresses the certainty of every true Christian - "whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's" (Romans 14:8). Of that there is no doubt.
Our duty is to share with OTHERS wisely and with sensitivity the truth of salvation in Jesus Christ alone. May we do this is our prayer.
