The 3 C's of Innovation
Last fall, I had the privilege of participating in the Water Innovation Summit in Berkeley, California, hosted by the Cleantech Group. I had the opportunity to speak about innovation in water technologies and what is driving utility adoption of innovative technologies and processes. I shared my thoughts on what Nick Reid (our VP of Strategic Partnerships) and I call the "3 Cs" of Innovation drivers: Cost, Crisis, and Cool. For more on the 3 C's of Innovation, please read Cleantech's whitepaper available off of their website. As water stewards, let's keep the 3 C's of Innovation in mind as we keep pushing new technologies and collaborating on ideas that will improve the way clean water is produced and managed. Making Sense of New Wastewater Regulations
|
The new federal Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations (WSER), under the Fisheries Act, came into effect January 1, 2013. At this time, effluent monitoring requirements, record-keeping and reporting requirements - and the provisions allowing for transitional or temporary authorizations to be applied for and issued - are in full force. Other requirements will be phased in over several years.
