The RMS Housekeeping module is also known as the Unit Clean Status. This functionality has been around a long time but has recently been updated to include mobile technology such as the Vendor Login portal and the Clean Unit Text feature.
Originally the Unit Clean Status menu was an in-house option that provided a way for the status of the property to be noted in RMS. As properties were progressing from dirty to cleaned.
 The status in RMS would have been set by the back office person or by a call-in module. The basic flow of Unit Clean Status is from Occupied to Dirty to Clean. Each of these could have a sub-status. Most companies, for example use Clean-Not Inspected and Clean-Inspected prior to allowing the guest to check-in. The updated Unit Clean Status can be toggled from a phone or the Vendor Login portal. Almost everyone has a cell phone or tablet. The Cleaning Crew can access a list of their units that need to be cleaned. The cleaner can check the properties off as they clean them using the Vendor Login portal. The Vendor Login Portal is accessed using a secure user name and password specific to the vendor and the properties that vendor is assigned to clean. The Inspector can text a number that will change the Unit status to Clean Inspected. Guests can even get a text automatically that tells them "Your Unit is ready!"
