Thanksgiving Leaves a Warm Feeling
Health. My family. Clarity. These are just a few of the "leaves" on the Thanksgiving Tree created by the kids here at Clarity CGC - with the help of our talented Therapeutic Recreation team.
The four foot Thanksgiving Tree, and all its colorful leaves, reflects the hope and healing you have helped us to provide at Clarity CGC. We are so thankful for the many people, partners and organizations who have supported us. From advocating for children's mental health to funding campus expansions, every action has made a positive impact on the lives of children struggling with a mental, emotional or behavioral disorder.
From all of us at Clarity Child Guidance Center, thank you! And Happy Thanksgiving!
If you are interested in supporting this kind or creative approach to care, we have a Wish List of items that our TR team can use. Click here to see the Wish List.
Check our Facebook page for a close up of the Thanksgiving Tree.
Save the date: Saturday, January 21, for the Texas movie premier of No Letting Go
Please plan to join us for the Texas premier of No Letting Go at the Santikos Palladium IMAX on Saturday morning, January 21.
The screening is sponsored by One in Five Minds, the advocacy campaign sponsored by Clarity CGC to increase awareness of children's mental health. Based on a true story, this film is a poignant and hopeful drama following one family's journey as they discover their child suffers from a mental illness.
The screening will be hosted by No Letting Go writer & producer Randi Silverman. She will also participate in a Q&A after the screening. Randi was the luncheon speaker at Claritycon2016.
In addition to the film screening and Q&A, several community agencies and organizations will be on hand to provide information and resources before and after the event. Please mark your calendar and watch for the link to purchase tickets in the next enews or on the Clarity CGC or One in Five Minds Facebook pages.

Guests from the National Association of Science Writers visit Clarity CGC
Clarity CGC was pleased to be a sponsor for the National Association of Science Writers meeting in San Antonio from October 28 thru November 1.
As part of our participation, Clarity CGC Senior Medical Director Soad Michelsen, MD, hosted a "Lunch with a Scientist" and discussed topics including the influence of the Hispanic culture on the future of national mental health.
Several science writers also visited the Clarity CGC campus (on Halloween!) for a tour led by Dr. Michelsen, Karl Koch, PhD, Director of Outpatient Services and Rick Edwards, LPC-S, Director of Inpatient Services.
Our science writer guests seemed to enjoy our Halloween-costumed staff as much as the campus tour!
