Stephanie Contreras receives 2016 Kathy Cunningham Mental Health Advocacy Award
Stephanie Contreras, a music teacher from McAuliffe Elementary in the McAllen Independent School District, and a dedicated mental health advocate, was named recipient of the 2016 Kathy Cunningham Mental Health Advocacy Award. The announcement was made during the Claritycon2016 luncheon. Stephanie is shown here with Kathy's son, Steve Owens.
The award was established in memory of a devoted advocate and Clarity Child Guidance Center employee who spent over 30 years supporting mental health. Kathy passed away in 2013.

Free community presentation: Sensory Integration Implications for Learning & Behavior
What is sensory integration? Clarity CGC welcomes Teresa "Tere" Sariol, OT, from the Texas NeuroRehab Center, who will define sensory integration and explain the role of the five senses as they pertain to sensory integration. She will discuss what can go wrong and how to evaluate for those deficits. Coping strategies for various sensory integration dysfunction will also be described during her presentation, Sensory Integration Implications for Learning & Behavior.

A couple spots are still open for new Teen Group sessions beginning Monday, July 11
There is still space for one or two more participants in the summer session of the Clarity CGC Teen Group.
The Teen Group sessions take place every Monday, beginning July 11, 2016, from 4:30 - 6:00 pm at the new Clarity CGC Outpatient Services building at 8535 Tom Slick Drive. Cost is $25 per session and may be a covered benefit under your insurance plan. The group is limited to eight participants.
