Free Community Presentation - Cultural Humility: Honoring the Cultural Worldviews of Children and Their Families in Therapy
For the April Clarity CEU event, Marcela Polanco, PhD, Our Lady of the Lake University, will present an alternative to working with children and their families from the position of cultural humility versus cultural competence. Dr. Polanco defines cultural humility as a therapeutic posture by which therapists recognize the differences between their social and cultural locations and the ones of children and their families.

One in Five Minds, an advocacy campaign sponsored by Clarity CGC, presents Strong Minds and Happy Hearts - A conversation on children's mental health, on Thursday, April 14, 6:00 - 8:15 pm at Memorial High School.
The evening includes childcare, a light meal, information tables and excellent speakers. Presentation topics include warning signs of mental illness, how to find help, how to work with your school, what to do about substance abuse and more. This is a free event!

Dyslexia Assessment Services available at Clarity CGC
Clarity CGC is providing Dyslexia Assessment Services to families who suspect their child may have dyslexia. Testing will include the following areas: cognitive functioning, reading, writing and spelling. the assessment should meet the requirements of school districts for a diagnosis of dyslexia.
