Claritycon2016 luncheon speaker to be Dallas County DA Susan Hawk
We are pleased to announce the luncheon speaker for Claritycon2016 will be Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk. In 2015, after seeking treatment for severe depression, Hawk returned to face an attempt to remove her from office. Her experience was recently covered by the Washington Post.
Hawk's talk, Coming Out of the Darkness - A High Achiever's Lifetime Struggle with Mental Illness, is one you won't want to miss.
Claritycon2016 is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, June 16 and 17, at the Norris Conference Center, on Loop 410 near Blanco Road.

Free Community Presentation - Law Enforcement and the Mentally Ill: Trends, Innovation and Policy
The San Antonio Police Department's (SAPD) approach to interaction with the mentally ill has been hailed as a national model. On Friday, February 19, Clarity CGC welcomes SAPD Officers William Kasberg and Jesse Trevino to discuss this important topic during their presentation: Law Enforcement and the Mentally Ill: Trends, Innovation and Policy.

Dyslexia Assessment Services now available at Clarity CGC
Clarity CGC is providing Dyslexia Assessment Services to families who suspect their child may have dyslexia. Testing will include the following areas: cognitive functioning, reading, writing and spelling. The assessment should meet the requirements of school districts for a diagnosis of dyslexia.

Special Education Support Services Class offered on two dates
Brighton Center, in partnership with Clarity Child Guidance Center, will present a free parent training program focused on helping parents and their children navigate the education system. The program is called Special Education Support Services (SESS). and it will be offered twice - on Saturday, February 20, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and Thursday, March 24, 6:00 - 9:00 pm. (Attendees can pick which class to attend. You do not need to attend both classes.)
