LOOKING BACK AT SOME SPECIAL EVENTS FOR CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
|

Pinwheels at the Alamo drew attention to children's mental health.
On Wednesday, May 6, Clarity CGC's advocacy campaign, One in Five Minds, hosted Pinwheels for Hope at the Alamo. It was a kick off event for Children's Mental Health Awareness Day on Thursday, May 7. Clarity CGC President & CEO Fred Hines, UTHSCSA Department of Psychiatry Chair Dr. Steven Pliszka, Justice Luz Elena Chapa, Judge Nelson Wolff (shown here) and Clarity CGC VP Rebecca Helterbrand shared the podium to speak to the importance of increasing access to care for kids struggling with mental illness. In the background, 3,000 pinwheels, symbols of childhood hope and healing, spun in the breeze. It was a colorful and memorable event. Read the online San Antonio Express-News coverage here.

One in Five Minds launched Maynicures for Mental Health.
On April 30, One in Five Minds, launched the Maynicures for Mental Health campaign at Ric Marmolejo Salon. Join the campaign during the month of May at participating salons, or in your own home, by painting 1 of 5 nails on each hand a different color - symbolizing the 1 in 5 children who struggle with mental illness in Bexar County. Post photos of your "maynicures" on the 1in5minds Facebook page (and on your profile too!) using the hashtag #maynicures. We'll add your photos to our album. Learn more here.

Clarity CGC staff lent a hand on Maynicures for Mental Health campaign.
Clarity CGC staff supported One in Five Minds' Maynicures for Mental Health. Clarity ladies (and some men) got Maynicures throughout the day on the Clarity campus. And to get the Clarity men involved, we asked them to be our amazing maynicurists! It was great fun, supporting a great cause. Thank you to everyone who participated.

We Give Big thanks!
Supporters of Clarity CGC knocked it out of the park during the second annual The Big Give SA on May 5. Our stretch goal was left in the rear-view mirror as many generous hearts posted 73 gifts totaling $7,686. A BIG thank you to everyone who supported healing young minds and hearts that day with their gifts.
