reflections: over 300 people participate in claritycon2014
Thank you to everyone who contributed to success of our 2014 summit on children's mental health!

An enthusiastic crowd of over 300 mental health professionals, educators, physicians, and community advocates gathered at the El Tropicano Riverwalk for claritycon2014, on June 12 and 13.

Clarity Child Guidance Center and One in Five Minds, along with sponsors Community Bible Church, Methodist Healthcare Ministries and Bexar County, presented the one and a half day conference. The event included excellent breakout sessions, and insightful and educational presentations from luncheon speaker Kay Warren and keynote speakers Steven Pliszka, MD, and Ellen Braaten, PhD (shown above).

Thank you to all who attended, presented, and supported this event!

For the Mental Health Salon, TEDxSanAntonio, One in Five Minds, and other local organizations will present a half day of thought-provoking presentations on mental health.

Details are being finalized, but please save the date for Saturday, September 13, 2014, and watch for more details about this unique experience!

thank you: Hogg Foundation grant to train mental health policy fellows in Texas

Clarity CGC one of five recipients of fellowship grants

Clarity CGC was one of five organizations included in the Hogg Foundation grant awards to train mental health policy fellows in Texas.

As outlined in the press release announcing the grants, "Five recent graduates of law, social work, public policy or other graduate programs will receive intensive training, education and experience in mental health advocacy and policy work through the Hogg Mental Health Policy Grants program."

Clarity CGC will use the grant to hire an in-house fellow and provide mentorship for this person. As the Hogg Foundation notes, "Both the fellows and the mentors will participate in the Hogg Mental Health Policy Academy."

Congratulations to the other organizations and thank you to the Hogg Foundation for this fellowship grant!
