We are a nonprofit mental health treatment center providing programs designed specifically for kids ages 3-17. Our goal is to provide families throughout South Texas greater access to children's mental health care regardless of their ability to pay.

free community presentation: the relationship between attachment, trauma, and the DSM-5        
Free community presentation is scheduled for Friday, December 13 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

   

Richard Layne, MA, LPC, TIC, will be the featured speaker for the Clarity CGC monthly community event on Friday, December 13. The topic of his presentation is "The Relationship Between Attachment, Trauma, and the DSM-5."

During this 2-hour presentation, Mr. Layne will explain basic principals of attachment, trauma, and complex trauma. Other goals and objectives will be to present information on:
  • How to identify trauma and attachment problems 
  • Discussion of the new guidelines for Trauma Related Disorders in the DSM-5.  

The primary focus of the presentation will be to present a framework for understanding how trauma and attachment interact and influence each other. This presentation will be useful for all caregivers and professionals who deal with trauma and attachment problems, either at home or in their work. 

 

The program qualifies for 2 hours of CEU credit (LPC, LMSW, NAADAC and PhD). Space is limited, so please  RSVP.

 San Antonio teens talking about real issues 

    

Teens Clarity CGC has a group just for San Antonio teens (ages 14-17). The group sessions provide a confidential place for teens to discuss relationship issues with other teens. Participants will have the opportunity to grow in their ability to establish and maintain healthy meaningful relationships. They will learn about themselves and their relationships through peer interaction.
  • WHEN:
    Every Monday, 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
    Beginning January 6, 2014  
  • WHERE:
    Clarity CGC's Outpatient Campus
    2135 Babcock Road, San Antonio, Texas 78229
  • COST:
    $25 (may be a covered benefit under your insurance plan)

november 25: parenting classes now on mondays        

Register to attend our English or Spanish parenting classes, on Monday mornings or evenings     

 

A new session of Monday parenting classes have begun at Clarity CGC. Classes in English are held 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Monday mornings at our Outpatient Campus on Babcock, and 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Monday evenings at the Main Campus on Tom Slick Drive. 

 

Classes in Spanish are held Monday mornings 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Outpatient Campus, and 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday evenings at the Main Campus.    

  • November 25 - Communication within the Family
  • December 2- Establishing Authority as a Parent and Using Effective Discipline Techniques
  • December 9 - Dealing with Anger and Conflict in the Family  
  • December 16 - Nurturing Children's Self-Esteem 
  • December 23 - Raising 21st Century Kids  
Cost: $5.00 per session (financial assistance available)
