Clarity CGC to receive donation of up to a $1,000 for land sale and $1,500 for a home contract in August
Copper Ridge: Build It Up is ending the summer of 2013 with a splash! Southerland Communities, a National Land Partners affiliate, along with local builders, McMillin Homes and WhiteStone Custom Homes, will make a donation of up to $1,000 for every land sale and $1,500 for a home contract during the month of August.
Build It Up is a monthly philanthropic program from Copper Ridge that has raised an estimated $23,000 for local charities. Through the Build It Up program, Copper Ridge, McMillin Homes and WhiteStone Custom Homes are building a greater community, by creating awareness and support for non-profit organizations.
Clarity CGC provides over one million dollars in uncompensated charitable care each year, and hundreds of thousands more to children who are underinsured. Campaigns like Build It Up are so important to helping us provide mental health care to children or adolescents, regardless or their family's ability to pay. free community presentation: optimizing the helping relationship at every stage of change
| A FEW SEATS ARE STILL AVAILABLE - Free community presentation - Friday, August 30 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Shawn Owens, MSN RN, and Vice President of Nursing Services at Clarity Child Guidance Center, will be the featured speaker for the Clarity CGC community monthly event on Friday, August 30. The topic of her presentation will be "Optimizing the Helping Relationship at Every Stage of Change."
During this 2-hour presentation, Ms. Owens will present how to more effectively and compassionately help yourself, clients and others. This presentation will include an overview of how adverse childhood events lead to decreased wellness in adults, and ways to overcome this reality.
Attendees will learn how to make a more powerful positive impact with trauma-informed care, the change model, and understanding therapeutic lifestyle elements for both heart and mental health. Helpers will receive practical tips on how to implement and facilitate positive change for better outcomes in all therapeutic settings.
The program qualifies for 2 hours of CEU credit (LPC, LMSW, NAADAC and PhD). Space is limited, so please RSVP.

august 29: new parenting class sessions begin

Register to attend our English or Spanish parenting classes, on Thursday mornings or evenings
Clarity CGC will begin the next series of parenting classes on Thursday, August 29. Classes in English will be held 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday mornings at our Outpatient Campus on Babcock, and 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday evenings at the Main Campus on Tom Slick Drive.
Classes in Spanish will be held Thursday mornings 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Outpatient Campus, and 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings at the Main Campus.
- August 29 - Creating a Healthy Family
- September 5 - Communication Within the Family
- September 12 - Establishing Authority as a Parent and Using Effective Discipline Techniques
- September 19 - Dealing with Anger and Conflict in the Family
- September 26 - Nurturing Children's Self-Esteem
- October 3 - Raising 21st Century Kids
Cost: $5.00 per session (financial assistance available)
