free community presentation: teens: inside the adolescent brain

Free community presentation is scheduled for Friday, March 22 from 1-3 pm
Michelli Ramon, LCSW and Wellness Coordinator for the Alamo Heights Independent School District, will be the featured speaker for the Clarity CGC community monthly event on Friday, March 22. The topic of her presentation will be "Teens: Inside the Adolescent Brain."
During this 2-hour presentation, Ms. Ramon will provide a guided tour of the teen brain, and examine teens and their emotions, risks, education and other aspects of their life and growth.
Her training objectives are:
- To understand the dynamics of adolescent brain development.
- To develop new and more effective ways to communicate, educate and intervene with teenagers.
- To maintain the proper perspective when working with teens.
The program qualifies for 2 hours of CEU credit (LPC, LMSW, NAADAC and PhD). Space is limited, so please RSVP.

Please share with friends and join us Saturday, March 23, 2013 to raise funds for charitable mental health care for kids
The third annual Pinwheel Run & Walk for Hope 5K Trail & Family Fun Run is just a few weeks away! The event will be on Saturday, March 23, at the beautiful Medical Foundation Trails.
All proceeds will go toward Clarity CGC's charitable care program and will provide mental health care for kids whose families could not otherwise afford treatment.
New this Year!
 We welcome our first Honorary Race Chair, too! News4 WOAI Morning Anchor Michael Garofalo will be on hand to greet participants and start the race.
He'll also be joining us for the post-race party with live music courtesy of Hogg Shedd. We'll also have a moon bounce and face painting for the kids.
We have a number of entry options available for you, too! You can walk or run the 5K individually. Register to do the 5K as a team of 5 participants. Or register for our Family Fun Run! (It's just to the end of the block and back and great for the kids.)

valero texas open: birdies for charity - and a new car!

Guess the number of birdies and you could win a NEW car!
Support Clarity CGC through Birdies for Charity, an exciting fundraising program linked to the Valero Texas Open, the 3rd oldest tournament on the PGA TOUR schedule.
The 2013 Valero Texas Open will take place beginning Monday, April 1, through Sunday, April 7. In addition to a champion crowned on the course, there's also going to be a lucky winner of a brand new car during the Birdies for Charity fundraising program.
Clarity CGC wins, too!
Clarity CGC will receive 100% of every dollar raised through Birdies for Charity. All the money raised will go toward our charitable care program to help us provide greater access to children's mental health care, regardless of a family's ability to pay.

march 21: parenting classes begin new session

Register to attend our English or Spanish parenting classes, now on Thursday mornings or evenings
Clarity CGC will begin the next series of parenting classes on Thursday, March 21. Classes in English will be held 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday mornings at our Outpatient Campus on Babcock, and 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday evenings at the Main Campus on Tom Slick Drive.
Classes in Spanish will be held Thursday mornings 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Outpatient Campus, and 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings at the Main Campus.
- March 21 - Creating a Healthy Family
- March 28 - Communication Within the Family
- April 4 - Establishing Authority as a Parent and Using Effective Discipline Techniques
- April 11 - Dealing with Anger and Conflict in the Family
- April 18 - Nurturing Children's Self-Esteem
- April 25 - Raising 21st Century Kids
Cost: $5.00 per session (financial assistance available)
