AIRLINE - BRITISH AIRWAYS

On a recent educational trip to the UK and Spain, I had the pleasure of experiencing British Airways Club World product.

We flew British Airways to London then took advantage of the amazing facilities offered at the British Airways Arrivals Lounge located in Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.  Here you can take a shower, enjoy a complimentary treatment in the day spa, catch up on the latest news, enjoy some breakfast or simply unwind and prepare for the day ahead.  The lounge is a great option for those early arrivals into London who are heading straight to work for the day.

HOTEL - CAFE ROYAL, LONDON

Located in a landmark building in the heart of central London, Hotel Café Royal is a 5 star hotel perfectly positioned within walking distance of London's finest shopping streets, attractions and theatres. Café Royal is also perfectly positioned for London's iconic tourist landmarks, Westminster and Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, The Royal Opera House, Hyde Park and Regents Park. The hotel features 160 contemporary guestrooms including 49 suites and six signature suites. 

My absolute favourite feature of the hotel was by far the state-of-the-art gym and the enticing swimming pool which is a welcome indulgence after a great workout.  The hotel offers all we have come to expect from a 5 star property with several eateries, bars, complimentary Wi-Fi coupled with exceptional service throughout.

DESTINATION - BARCELONA, SPAIN

Having been fortunate to have travelled to many cities and continents over several years, it does take a lot to impress me. Barcelona is one such city which I instantly fell in love with.  Barcelona boasts the dynamic and openness so typical of a Mediterranean city and it is the perfect city in which to relax, stroll about and simply enjoy. 

In Barcelona, you don't have to choose between shopping or sightseeing. Wherever you go, you will see the shops as they are very much a part of city life. Barcelona is The Catalan Capital which prides itself on fine, traditional cuisine which is served with a warm smile and great service. 

A must see whilst in Barcelona is the expiatory church of La Sagrada Familia. The building is located in the centre of Barcelona and has become one of the most identifiable landmarks and recognised worldwide. 

Effective immediately and just announced yesterday, Wednesday 15 April 2015, Virgin Australia now offers complimentary food and beverage on all flights across the Australian domestic network along with free inflight entertainment and checked baggage.

This new service is another step in the airlines transformation into a premium, contemporary, full service carrier.

Virgin Australia's complimentary food and beverage service has been tailored to the time of day and the duration of the journey.

Virgin Australia continues to offer complimentary tea, coffee, juice and water on all flights, complimentary wine, beer and soft drink served in 'Happy Hour' between 5pm and 7pm Monday to Friday as well as alternative food and beverage options through the popular on-board Retail Menu.

Singapore Airlines announced the operation of three additional  weekly services from Singapore to Sydney starting in July 2015. The flights will  be operated by an Airbus A330-300, offering 30 Business and 255 Economy class seats.

From 30 July 2015, Singapore Airlines SQ251 will depart Singapore every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 23.35 and will arrive in Sydney at 09.15 the next day.

The returning flight, SQ252 will depart Sydney every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 13.25 and arrive in Singapore at 19.45 on the same day. All times are local times.

The Changi Transit Programme is a joint promotion between Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport Group and is providing another reason for customers to shop and spoil themselves when they travel through Singapore. This programme offers transiting Singapore Airlines and SilkAir customers holding tickets issued in Australia S$40 worth of Changi Dollar Vouchers (CDV) per ticket.

The S$40 CDV will be distributed as two S$20 CDVs. One of the S$20 CDVs will be valid for one-time use at over 450 retail, food and service outlets throughout the transit and public areas of Changi Airport. It can also be redeemed for one-time access to Ambassador Lounge at Terminals 2 and 3 for up to two (2) hours. Lounge usage includes showers with basic toiletries, light refreshments, free flow international reading materials, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi. The second S$20 CDV will be valid for one-time use to redeem Liquor, Tobacco, Perfumes or Cosmetics purchases only.

Virgin Australia celebrated its first Darwin to Alice Springs and Alice Springs to Adelaide return services. 

The airline will operate three flights per week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) from Darwin and Adelaide to Alice Springs return. The flight will be operated with Virgin Australia's Boeing 737-800 which includes 176 Economy and 8 Business class seats.

Virgin Australia passengers travelling in Business class will enjoy Luke Mangan designed menus, complimentary lounge access and extra luggage allowance.

All Virgin Australia passengers will have access to the airline's wireless in-flight entertainment system with hundreds of hours of entertainment streamed to their own device.
