QANTAS BREAKS ON TIME PERFORMANCE RECORD
 Qantas has had the best monthly result for on-time flights arrivals and departures for any major airline in more than a decade.
Punctuality records were broken in both Perth and Darwin, while Brisbane, Adelaide and Townsville recorded their best result in seven years.
Record punctuality was also made on return flights to Perth from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Qantas' reputation as the most punctual and reliable major domestic airline was cemented in 2013 when the airline lead the competition in 12 out of 12 months of the year in both arrivals and departures. It was the first time Qantas, or any other airline, had been able to lead by that margin. 2013 also marked the fifth year in a row Qantas has recorded the best results.
QANTAS HONG KONG LOUNGE
Qantas have opened the doors to their new lounge in Hong Kong, offering customers a new standard of luxury when travelling through the city. The Qantas Hong Kong Lounge is the perfect environment for our customers to relax before their flight, including: - Neil Perry designed menus based on his Rockpool and Spice Temple restaurants with regionally inspired flavours and ingredients.
- A range of dining experiences from the Spice Temple BBQ Bar to yum cha trolleys, an extensive buffet or the locally influenced plate of the day.
The opening of the Qantas Hong Kong Lounge demonstrates not only how the Qantas Group continues to invest where it matters most to its customers, but is also part of a broader commitment to Hong Kong as a key hub for the region.

Nivalda Taylor, from our office in Fremantle, experienced the new Qantas Lounge in Hong Kong first hand on her way back from the Hong Kong 7's.
From the moment you walk in you are greeted by two very friendly staff welcoming you. The lounge is very spacious and it makes you feel like you have your own personal space once you sit down. The food buffet was great and to have another option with the Neil Perry menu is amazing. To top off the food there is an excellent drinks menu as well. I had a drop of the Pinot Noir which was superb. The Wi-Fi was reliable for those wanting to do business and there was a Wi-Fi printer at your hands. I did hear some whispers from some professional athletes saying the showers were "amazing". |
ETIHAD TO FLY AIRBUS A380 TO SYDNEY AND MELBOURNE IN 2015
 Etihad Airways will begin flying its new A380s to Sydney and Melbourne next year as the Gulf carrier fills out its fleet of 10 superjumbos. Etihad's first A380 is due for delivery by December, with the double decker jets also slated for routes from its Abu Dhabi hub to New York and London. Each of the A380s will carry a standard three-class layout of First, Business and Economy. Etihad will also open a new lounge at Sydney Airport towards the end of May 2014, with a Melbourne lounge to follow in early 2015.

QATAR'S AIRBUS UNVEILS A380 FIRST CLASS CABIN
 With Qatar Airways' first A380-800 aircraft due to enter service this year, the airline has now released images of its first-class cabin.
Set in a 1-2-1 configuration, each seat will feature a 90-inch pitch and will transform into a fully flat bed. Entertainment will be transmitted on 26-inch television screens.
Although the date of its inaugural departure is unconfirmed, Qatar Airway's first A380 will operate on the Doha to London Heathrow route. The airline has also announced it is to launch the first all-business class flights from Heathrow along the same route on May 15, serving up to a maximum of 40 passengers in a specially configured A319. First and business class passengers alike will have use of the airline's Premium Terminal, reserved solely for their use whilst in Doha.

Operating Boeing 777 aircraft between Sydney and Melbourne to both San Francisco and Los Angeles, customers enjoy 180° lie-flat seating in both BusinessFirst and Global First. In premium cabins, United offers audio and video on-demand entertainment with more than 150-hours of movies and TV programs, a 15.4-inch video monitor and Apple iPod connectivity.
Customers travelling in premium cabins on long-haul international flights will notice United's new menu options and new premium amenity kits featuring skin care products by philosophy. United Global First customers receive a six-course meal, including an appetizer, soup, salad with gourmet breads, entrée, cheese and fruit, and dessert. BusinessFirst features a five-course meal with an appetizer, salad with gourmet breads, entrée, cheese and fruit, and dessert.

QANTAS FREQUENT FLYER FREE OFFER
Qantas has launched a limited time offer allowing passengers to join the Qantas Frequent Flyer Scheme at no cost. Normally priced at $89.50, for some years there have been free membership loopholes, such as a no charge sign-up page associated with the Woolworths Everyday Reward program. QANTAS CHANGES THE WAY FREQUENT FLYER POINTS CAN BE EARNED
Effective for travel on/after 01 July 2014 on Qantas and Jetstar:
- A fairer way to earn Qantas Points and Status credits based on the fare paid and route travelled, rather than miles flown.
- Earn more on Flexible fares in Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First, reduced points on lower fares.
- Earn more Status credits on international Saver Economy fares, Flexible Premium Economy fares and Flexible Business fares.
- A simpler zonal earn table to make it easier for members to see how many Qantas Points and Status credits can be earned on all fare options
- A minimum Points Guarantee from 1000 to 1200 points in Flexible Economy and 1250 to 1400 for Business travellers.
- A decrease from 1000 to 800 points for Discount Economy.
