 Greetings! RVM Australia has taken the mystery out of payload calculations with a new payload calculator exclusively for its members and their dealers. The new Load Carrying Capacity Calculator enables RMV Australia sales people to work out exactly how much capacity their customers need in their new vans. The calculator makes it easy to calculate how much the customer intends to carry, including any accessories not fitted at the factory. It's all too easy for a 'best guess' to be less than the total actual load, which can compromise both safety and legality, and our new calculator assists to overcome this problem. For example, for a couple in a dual axle van of six-plus metres, with luggage, TV, solar panels, generator and 190 litres of water, the payload can come out at just over 500 kg - rather more than one might expect. Dealers and customers can work out the load they need - customers know what they want, and dealers know what things weigh - and then specify the van accordingly. Showing the Load Carrying Capacity on our new vehicle plate One of the improved features of the new vehicle plate is the inclusion of additional technical information to assists owners with safe and legal towing including the load carrying capacity.
Information about the tare mass, GTM, both tare and maximum ball weights and load carrying capacity provides the owner with a clear understanding of the vehicle's ratings and capabilities as stated/weighed when it left the manufacturer's premises.
