After many hours of research, development and in response to member feedback, the new RVM Australia vehicle plate has arrived. This single plate (Item C-2) replaces the two individual plates (Items C-2A and C-2B) representing a substantial cost saving when compared to buying the set of two plates.
Pricing
Purchasing one plate - instead of a set of two - represents a significant saving.

Improved features
The new plate has an aluminium (silver) background with black fields which greatly improves legibility of the manufacturer's engraved text/stamping.

Actual size: 215 x 60 mm
Manufacturer input is simplified with the inclusion of standard units - eg "kg" for weights, "/" between month and year, "TM" for ATM or GTM and "KPA" for tyre pressures, etc.
Additional technical information assists owners with safe and legal towing. Information about the tare mass, GTM, both tare and maximum ball weights and load carrying capacity provides the owner with a clear understanding of the vehicle's ratings and capabilities as stated/weighed when it left the manufacturer's premises.
The single plate covers all relevant legal and RVMAP requirements, as listed below.

Important Notes
- Before registration the manufacturer or importer must affix a vehicle plate to the trailer.
- The vehicle plate is used to provide clear indications to the consumers, owners and state and territory authorities that the trailer is ready for road use. It also provides valuable information about the specifications of the trailer.
- All information provided on the vehicle plate must be in the English language, in block letters and legible. Embossed, indented, etched or engraved in letters and numbers should not less than 2.5mm in height.
- The vehicle plate must be affixed in a position where it may be readily examined and in a permanent position. Note: on a door is not a permanent position.
- The vehicle plate must be permanently attached to the trailer via welding, rivets or other permanent methods.
- As stated in ADR 61/02: "Additional information may be included at the discretion of the 'Manufacturer"
- As stated in the Vehicle Standards Bulletin 1 (VSB-1): "This plate may also include additional information such as the tyre placard information (specified in Section 16)."
- Refer to Vehicle Standards Bulletin 1 (VSB-1) and Australian Design Rule 61 (ADR 61) for more information.
