Headshot Pink
Did you know that there are really three brains of the body?  They are the mind, the heart, and the gut.  When they are each aligned they help us to make the best of our lives.

In an ideal world they work together to store, transform, and supply energy to each other.  If you think about it we are surrounded by energy.  It comes in from our galaxy, through the magnetic energy field of our earth, and then touches us and our planet. We work and live within an energetic field of energy that connects us all to one another, to Nature, and to all living things therein.

There is too much information about these three brains to be able to relate all of this knowledge in one news-letter, so the next three newsletters will be a series to look at each of the brains and see how each functions to enable us to live the happiest life that we can choose to live. Ultimately, it is a constant learning process.

In this newsletter I will give a brief overview (to the best of my understanding) of how the three brains work.  We are only now learning of Energetics, a complete system of the unseen 'energy under transformation' that we unconsciously use in our lives.

It is the hope that as we learn more we can use this intuitive and loving energy to make our world a more peaceful and happy place for all living things to share. It is quite worth the effort of learning about and sharing, don't you think?
Mantra
A mantra is a sound or phrase that aids in the concentration of meditation.  It is a Sanskrit term and literally means 'instrument of thought'.  Here you will find a suggested mantra to use during the week (from Louise Hay's 'Heal Your Body'). Just repeat it whenever you need a lift.

Joy now flows freely within me,
and I am at peace with life.

Yoga Nidra:  Golden Boat
Yoga Nidra: Golden Boat by Debbie Jensen-GrubbI did it!  I figured out how to put one of my yoga nidras on YouTube!  Now you can easily share it with your friends and family, or anyone you know that needs to relax for a while.  It is my 20-minute Golden Boat Yoga Nidra from my Cat Naps CD.

Now you will be able to relax anytime on any of your internet-connected devices...PC, laptop, iPad, iPod, iPhone or any phone with internet access.  If you save it to your favorites file on YouTube then it is even easier to find when you want to just sink into a peaceful meditation for a little while.

I am so excited about this (as you can tell)!  So if you are ready to relax, please lie down, close your eyes, make yourself comfortable, and relax with me as I guide you through this peaceful meditation.  Or, if you choose to just listen while awake, you can watch the photos I chose from our files that my husband or I took.  Either way may all of your sankalpas come true as you take a break and rejuvenate!
Nutrition Prescription - Raindrop Therapy Technique

nullGary Young, founder of Young Living Essential Oils, is given credit for pioneering this massage treatment.  It is based on what he learned from a Lakota medicine man, Wallace Black Elk, to imitate the healing effects that the Northern Lights is said to have on the people of the tribe when they made their annual pilgrimage to see them.

He combined three different healing modalities to create this effect: aromatherapy, Vita Flex reflexology, and effleurage.  The sessions last about one hour, but the effects can last up to a week.

First, essential oils are massaged into the spinal points located on the feet.  Next, the same oils are dripped on the spine from a height of about 6 - 12" and massaged up the spine with a feather-like action.  After the oils have been massaged into the back, a hot towel is laid on the spine to allow the oils to be absorbed even deeper into the body.

The oils include:  basil, cypress, marjoram, oregano, peppermint, thyme, valor, winter-green, and Aroma Seiz.  These oils are powerful antibiotic and antiviral oils that work to bring structural and electrical alignment.  It stimulates all of the body systems at a physical and emotional level.

These particular oils offer a blend that integrates the body's energies and can help align the spine and muscles of the back, help ease cramping and muscle soreness/pain, and are designed to bring physical, mental, and emotional balance to the body as well. Additionally, they aid in aligning and clearing the energy centers, or chakras, of the body.

It is the profound natural-intelligence of the oils which can heal where healing is needed. The oils used in raindrop flush out toxins and kill dormant viruses and bacteria along the spine, restoring health to the entire system.  The reason they are dropped from above is because it is thought to work with the person's electrical field before even penetrating the skin of the back (just like the energy from our galaxy works on us!).

This regime can also be performed on cats, dogs, even horses benefit from this technique.  It is said to help them if they are stressed, injured, or ill to complement the veterinarians methods.

Hmmm, this sounds absolutely wonderful!  I am going to begin my search to find someone who does this in my town.  I certainly can use a relaxing massage and, if the healing effects truly do work, I certainly can use all the help I can get!  It certainly does seem like it would bring all of my brains together to work in harmony.  What about you? Does this sound like something you would like to try too?

Ponderings - Three Brains Overview

nullWe have in our bodies multiple centers of wisdom.  Unfortunately most of us have forgotten how to utilize two of these valuable arenas of intelligence.  We give importance to only one of the centers, not realizing that it is only a small part in an entire system of energetic capacity.

A brain is a neural processing center that receives information, processes it, and then creates a responding action.  We live in this ongoing cycle of action throughout life.  Now, through continuing research, it is known that we have three brains in our bodies that follow this process, whereas before just the mind-brain was thought to per-form this function.

In actuality the correct process works from the bottom up, not the top down.  In order for us to live a more comprehensive life we must start by listening to our gut, the enteric brain.  As the picture to the right shows, it is much more stable and balanced than the way we are used to living.  In his paper, Accessing the Wisdom of Your Body, Mark C. Taylor explains how it is through the gut brain that we perceive the basic knowledge that we require, which is 'are we safe or not?'.  If that primary concern is satisfied then we can move upward to higher brain functions.

Once your gut-brain is relaxed it provides a foundation from which your heart-brain can better function and focus on your emotional intelligence.  Per The Institute of HeartMath the heart talks with every cell in the body, as well as with other peoples heart energies, letting us know if we are emotionally safe or not.

When the gut-brain and heart-brain are sensed and functioning well, the mind-brain can do its work, which is to address new situations, stimuli, and events and find solutions for them that allow us to learn new things, process what it means to us, and how to survive in the world.

Each brain communicates with the other two, so it is not a hierarchy but a complete system that works together.  This system is more relaxing to the nervous system and less exhausting to maintain.  Until it becomes natural to us, it requires conscious effort to become acquainted with living from our other two brains, but it is worth the effort. When the pathways of flow are established and open you can begin to enjoy living life to its fullest potential, begin healing the body, and being at peace with the world around you.

I look forward to learning more about our three brains and sharing what I learn with you.  It is a different way of looking at how we function, not just within ourselves but in the world too.

Thank you!
Hugs and Namaste,

Debbie
