April is National Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month
 
Did You Know?
  • Every day in this country, 1,900 children become victims of abuse or neglect.
  • 646,000 neglected and abused children find themselves in foster care each year.
  • In 2012, there were 3.4 million reports of abuse or neglect in the US.
  • An estimated 1,564 children died from abuse or neglect in 2012.


UPDATES
Non-Profit Board Members and Leadership: A Workshop for Community Volunteers Saturdays, April-May 10am-12pm
This spring program series for new non-profit board member. All sessions are two hours in length and will be held at Miami Regionals Downtown Hamilton Center, 221 High Street, Hamilton, OH, 45011. Parking is readily available on the street or in any adjacent lot (banks included). There is no cost to participate, as this activity is a free, public service of Miami Hamilton's Center for Civic Engagement.

Fair Housing Training Wednesday, May 10th 1:00-4:00pm
This is a great opportunity for landlords, agency/ government staff, and housing professionals wanting to stay up to date with fair housing issues. See attached document for more information.

Successful Co-Parenting
Family and Consumer Sciences' Successful Co-Parenting is a two to three-hour class designed to equip parents with the knowledge, skills, tools, awareness and strategies to help their children adjust to divorce now and in the future. See attached document or their website for more information.

Webinar on Guiding People through Systems (GPS)
Monday, May 1, 2017 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
Guiding People through Systems (GPS) is an online care notebook now available in Ohio.  You can set-up an online "binder" of individualized forms, and download or email forms that you can share with healthcare or service providers, schools and relatives from anywhere where you have access to a computer.
