Dear BJPA Reader,

The release of the Pew Research Center's "A Portrait of Jewish Americans" highlights -- as never before -- the centrality of social research in the discourse of American Jewry and its observers. Indeed, we may debate the current condition and future prospects of American Jewry. But one matter that seems non-debatable is that the social scientific study of contemporary Jewry commands greater interest than ever before.

Reflecting the growth in the number and diversity of academic researchers in this field is the rich array of relevant sessions and papers to be presented at the forthcoming annual meeting of the Association for Jewish Studies in Boston, December 15-17, 2013.

Whether you are attending or not, you'll find this BJPA Resource Guide a quick and stimulating introduction to the concerns and approaches of social scientists studying contemporary Jewish life, be it in the United States or elsewhere around the world.
