March 13, 2015
Greetings!

I'm Tom Mack, your new Senior Warden (well, sort of new Senior Warden), and my friends I bring really good news!

At our annual meeting five weeks ago, Chip Nichols talked about All Saints' chronic budget deficits, and he mentioned that, if each family on our rolls pledged $750 per year more, we could cover all of our current expenses without drawing anything from our investments. Then we had Aimee and Alyson's wonderful act of generosity, raising their pledge on the spot. And a number of others have followed, including our leadership.

And so the really good news: since the annual meeting, we have received increases in 2015 pledges in the amount of $169,000!! That is right, no slipped decimal; the wonderful combined generosity of folks with a very wide range of financial means has put us a little more than half way toward the challenge Chip put before us.

So, if you have been a part of this so far, thank you so, so much. If not, let me ask you to see if you can find a little time, as we continue our walk through Lent toward Easter together, to think about All Saints and whether you might also be a part of strengthening our financial foundation. If you find you can, you just need to email [email protected] and tell us what you would like to do. Your help in any amount will be gratefully received and greatly appreciated!

Lent at All Saints
The season of Lent offers us a gracious opportunity to examine our lives in order to identify where we fall short so that we can turn our wills back toward God, whose nature is always to have mercy. Lent is an occasion to consider our spiritual health and deepen our spiritual lives. We do this by choosing well our Lenten disciplines that lead us more deeply into a relationship with God and one another. This Lent, All Saints offers many opportunities to deepen your walk with Christ. Through seasonal opportunities for worship, devotion, and study, we hope you will find yourself not only willing but able to please God and participate more fully in the work of God's kingdom.

Bright colors, festive garb and the sounds of India filled the air as All Saints By-the-Sea Parish School celebrated its spring gala, held at the Coral Casino Beach & Cabana Club with a Bollywood theme.

"I think that for children to know - for all of us to know - that there's something beyond ourselves, some power beyond ourselves that's guiding our lives, that's helping us work toward redemption for ourselves and the world around us," Eyer-Delevett said. "That's giving us guidance about how we live our lives, the choices that we make and that we don't just live for ourselves - that we live for one another as well to care for one another and community." Dedications are available for the succulents that are part of our beautiful desert-themed Lent altar. New Exhibit in Church Office:

Hannah Stevens Allen

Born in Santa Barbara, Hannah studied in Norton, Massachusetts and Ireland. While in Ireland, she discovered her love for oils and chose to explore the medium in her Senior Arts Exhibit at Weaton. After graduation, Hannah moved to Boston where she continued her exploration of the oil medium. The brisk and vibrant colors that she discovered in the changing seasons of New England quickly influenced her pallet. She utilized her exploration of color to display her whimsical youthful sense of humor, hoping to assist viewers to reconnect with her inner child. Hannah has recently returned to Santa Barbara and is currently undergoing a change in her process and content stylistically, and she is thrilled to be given the opportunity to assemble and display some of her older work of cityscapes and bright animal personalities for All Saints.
