Celebrate Earth Day Weekend With Color and Fragrance!
April 22 is Earth Day. it was first organized over 40
years a
go to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet while encouraging awareness of the growing issues of air, water and soil pollution.
At Minters we are celebrating Earth Day weekend by filling the nursery with colorful annuals, perennials,
trees and shrubs. Full of color and fragrance, the nursery is teeming with ideas to inspire your garden artistry. Gardens tend to promote healthy living and bring an
appreciation of our earth to everyone who sees, touches, hears or smells them. Remember to plant wisely, plant with abundance and plant with respect, and you will be greatly rewarded.
Our 2013 Tomato List is Available On-Line!
Paul has completed our tomato list and it has over 170 varieties this year. Some varieties of market paks
are ready now, while the bulk of our larger tomato plants will be available in about 2 weeks, weather permitting. We feel it is still too early for direct planting into the ground, so plan on protecting early purchases from the the cool evening nights by placing them in your
garden window, or outside in a covered cold frame. Even better, plant in one our locally produced Cedar Vegetable Bins, and then covering at night with a poly cover or frost cloth. Our bins are perfect for all your vegetables, herbs and flowers. The soil temperature in these bins will warm earlier and faster than in most raised beds.
