Thank you, Berkeley Public Library Foundation, for honoring local authors in support of the Berkeley Public Library. Share in the excitement of this annual event by reading some of the works of the authors that will be honored! It's Time for Central! The Foundation's current fundraising focus is on the exciting new improvements at the flagship Central Library. A major review of the interior of Central proposed several high-impact improvements, centered on the first and second floors. These included a more welcoming entryway; clearer way-finding; improved acoustics, seating, and workspace lighting; more efficient and flexible space; and innovations to meet the needs of teenage library users, who have made instant successes of the new teen rooms at the renovated branch libraries.
