From the Principal

Each week, our teachers nominate a Student of the Week for each grade level who are consistently "Doing the Right Thing"

academically and behaviorally. Last week's BMS Students of the Week are:

Dior Edwards, Grade 6

Morgan Hammond, Grade 7

Tyler Murphy, Grade 8

All members of the 8th Grade Band or any student interested in joining the High School Band and their families are invited to our first annual Band Camp Info Night. Learn why Band Camp is one of the best reasons to play an instrument in High School and why it is so important to our success as a Marching Band. Also discussed will be some of the great opportunities that are available to BHS Band Students. This event will also feature a performance by the BHS Jazz Ensemble and snacks provided by the BBPA. The BHS Band Camp Info Night is Tuesday, April 14, at 7:30 pm in the High School band room.

Please click here to print a copy Hiram House Program Participation Agreement Form, and return this form no later than May 1. The camp fee is $122. Checks can be made to Beachwood City Schools and dropped off at the middle school office. All camp fees must be paid in full by May 1. If your child plans on attending camp only during the day, please let the front office know as soon as possible.

If your child has medication needs and will be attending 6th grade camp or the 8th grade Washington, DC trip, please click here to complete the medical forms. All medication is due into the nurse's office two weeks before the trip.

The 8th Grade Career Shadow Day is on Friday, May 15. Click here to read Mr. Winston's email with forms and details, and please begin discussing with your child who and where they will shadow.

The middle school PTO invites you to attend a free presentation by Dr. Ethan Schafer, clinical psychologist, on "navigating adolescence" on Thursday, April 16, at 7 pm, in the Beachwood Middle School library. Dr. Schafer will address a variety of issues parents may be experiencing with their adolescent and how to handle all the immediate information. He will cover a range of topics and is open to discussion.

Beachwood Schools and the Cuyahoga County Public Library have partnered to present the Beachwood Author Festival on Saturday, April 25, 12-5 pm, at BMS and the CCPL branch. Featured authors for all ages include Neal Schusterman, Angela Johnson, Marc Brown, Shelley Pearsall, Lindsay Ward, and John David Anderson. Click here for activities, times, and to learn more about the authors.

Donate, volunteer and shop at this year's Beachwood PTO Garage Sale, which will be held on Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1 (9 am - 4 pm), Saturday, May 2 (9 am - 3 pm), and Sunday, May 3 (10 am - 1 pm) at 23550 Commerce Park, Beachwood.
