For many years, Cheshire has sponsored and been involved in the Stroll for Strong Kids Walk and 5K Run, an exciting and fun-filled event that raises funds to benefit Golisano Children's Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Last year, the Stroll raised over $370,000!
This year, Justin Cheshire is proud to be part of the planning committee and is excited to share that the event has become so successful and large that it is moving to Genesee Valley Park.
Please plan to come out on Saturday, June 1 to take part in this fun family-oriented activity. Not only will you have a great time, but it's a wonderful, healthy way to give back to an organization that does so much for families in our community.
P.S. If you'd like to see how Golisano Children's Hospital plans to do even more for the community, take a look at their

Cheshire Insights: AV Trends for 2013
 | From Creation to Consumption: Think about what messages are being delivered in this video
|
Each year, Pantone (the leading authority on color systems for the selection and accurate communication of color) announces the "Color of the Year," a pronouncement that drives fashion, home decorating, cosmetics, packaging and industrial design decisions around world. (In case you're wondering, the color for 2013 is Emerald).
Although the AV and meetings industries are not quite as methodical in their changes, over the past ten years, these two industries have undergone dramatic evolutions. Trends do emerge on a regular basis that we want to share, especially because they often spill over into other areas of communication as well.
- Increased Use of Video - Video is being used more during meetings than ever before. It is a dynamic way to open general sessions, special events, awards ceremonies and galas, to introduce product or general information, or to share institutional history. When an audio visual company is onsite at an event, one of its most important roles is to invisibly orchestrate the magic that happens at the event. Media organizations that cover the event should play a similarly inconspicuous role.
This Cheshire video, produced in collaboration with DeBergerac Productions offers tips on how to ensure that the customer experience always comes first.

Cheshire On the Road with Getinge
 | Getinge's General Session at the Hilton on Marco Island
|
Cheshire was on the road with Getinge in January when the company held its sales meeting at the Hilton Hotel in Marco Island, Florida.
One of the challenges Getinge encountered was that the lovely ballroom in which the event was to take place turned out to be somewhat small for the unexpectedly larger size of the audience attending.
Although rear-screen projection is generally the preferred format for most meetings, it was not an option here, since space was a concern. Cheshire solved the problem by hanging the projection equipment above the audience, rigged from an air wall so that sight lines were clean and 20' of space was saved.
Getinge opened their 2013 sales meeting with a dramatic and moving video that concluded with the introduction of the Andersons, a father and daughter team, telling their inspirational story to the Getinge audience. Theirs was a tale with a remarkable ending due to the significant strides and passion Getinge carries with them throughout the year. Cheshire was proud to help orchestrate this moving production so that our presence was invisible, the program came off seamlessly, and attendees could fully appreciate the role their company had played in saving this young girl's life.
At every meeting Cheshire produces, we send a production box filled with indispensable items our clients might need, so when the printer at registration died, we were able to save the day by pulling one out of the production box. In the end, the meeting was the best show ever and came in, e-x-a-c-t-l-y on budget!
