Cavalier Coaches Night 2016
This is Gonna be Big!

Simply put, we are going to fill the gym. Serra Cavalier Coaches Night has something for everybody. We are honoring George "Mac" McDaniel, we are recognizing all of Serra's current head coaches, and we are filling the room with as many past Serra coaches as we can.

Do you remember the Serra Seven? We have the privilege to announce that Marcus Johnson '10 (left) will be one of the Masters of Ceremony. Marcus is currently working for the UC Davis athletic department. He plans to be UC Davis's Athletic Director one day.

In the picture above, Principal Jeff Guzman, right, is giving Sandra Even, left, her Cavalier Coaches Night tickets. Sandra is the wife of Perry Even '66, and they are two of the biggest supporters of Serra's Invest in Education program.

As reminder, Cavalier Coaches Night tickets include your Alumni, Friend of Serra, or Coaches Card.

One Coaches Night ticket can get you into the event, all our home Serra-sponsored athletic events (including the Homecoming Football Game on Fri., Sept. 30th), and the fall play for Alumni Day at the Theater (Sun., Dec. 4th).

Homecoming ~ Sept. 30th
Homecoming is Coming Early This Year
Serra hosts vs. the Loyola Cubs at 7:00 p.m. on September 30th for this year's homecoming game.

For the 5th consecutive year, we will have Alumni form their tunnel for the players to run through before the game on their way onto the field. That's where we need to wear some red and blue. The drill is to get to the north end of the field to form into lines. Joe Cormier '81 and Ron Shepherd '73 will be the leaders.

As usual, start thinking about leaving the game by the north end of the stadium and heading for the gym for the post game party. We are expecting a record crowds. The Class of '06 is planning on being there as a part of their reunion weekend.

For the 3rd year in a row, we are making a special effort to invite Serra Cheer and Pep Squad members to attend and be recognized. Will this year be larger than last year (pictured above)?

Cheerleaders, if you plan on coming...... please let us know...... like we did last year,  we will do post game introductions at the party. Contact Joe Cormier '81 at (310) 324-6675 Ext. 1017 or at jcormier@la-serrahs.org.
Serra Girls Volleyball
Don't Underestimate These Girls
The Lady Cavs open up league play at Home today, Thurs. Sept. 22nd, against La Salle High School at 6:00pm. Come out and support your Lady Cavs!

The Varsity squad is young this year, all Juniors with the exception of their Sophomore libero. They still made it to the semi-finals of the Venice Invitational Tournament earlier this month. Look for them to continue their success in league.

The Lady Cavs are lead by new coaching staff: Daryl Adams (left) is now the Varsity head coach, Mercedes Winchester (middle) is the new JV coach, and Alexis Seraphin (right) is the new Frosh/Soph coach.
