RI NOW One of Six Recipients of Women's Fund RI Grant
On October 26, 2012, the Women's Fund of RI awarded $40k to six Rhode Island organizations making a difference for women and girls. The winners include:
Girls Rock! Rhode Island - $8,000 toward operational/program supportRhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence - $8,000 to address dismissal casesRhode Island Foster Parents Association - $8,000 to focus on commercial sexual exploitation of girls in RI foster careRhode Island National Organization for Women - $5,000 to grow RINOW's capacity and outreachServices and Advocacy for GLBT Elders - $$6,000 to focus on health care needs of elder lesbiansSenior Agenda Coalition - funding made possible through the Verizon Foundation to continue engaging RI's older population in public policy.Socio-Economic Development Center for Southeast Asians - $5,000 to help build a stronger network and knowledge base for Southeast Asian women.
