Effective March 1, 2013, Arbella has accepted the voluntary loss costs filed by the National Council on Compensation Insurance for new and renewal business.
We have adopted the NCCI loss costs as filed and maintained our loss cost multipliers with one small exception: we are eliminating the 5% target class deviation for automobile service or repair centers. This change is consistent with the approach we have taken with this class of business in the other states where we write workers' compensation insurance.
We will continue to offer a 15% deviation for preferred tier business.
The state insurance department approved an overall average loss cost level increase of 7.1% in the voluntary market. The following is a list of average rate changes by industry. Rates for specific classes may increase or decrease much more than the average:
- MANUFACTURING - Overall +6.8%
- OFFICE & CLERICAL - Overall +0.9%
- GOODS & SERVICES - Overall +7.6%
- CONTRACTING - Overall +9.9%
- MISCELLANEOUS - Overall +8.8%
Arbella continues to be a competitive market for workers compensation written in support of accounts, including Package, Auto and Umbrella coverage. If you have any questions or comments, please contact your commercial lines underwriter or territory manager.
Thank you for your continued business support.
