The TPA Back-to-School Picnic is on for this Sunday, rain or shine. If it rains on Sunday, the event will be held in the gym.

Overflow parking will be available in the Trailside Museum parking lot, diagonally across the street from the school. Thacher will run a shuttle van to bring families to and from the parking lot.

Please join TPA Co-Chairs Stacey Santoro and Vanessa Holroyd for a brief, informational meeting about the Thacher Parent Association. We will be discussing the TPA-sponsored events that happen throughout the year and brainstorming ways in which families can help support and nurture our school community.

Dear Thacher Parents,

 

The trustees want to let you know that this past weekend we had a very productive retreat at Thacher, covering a wide range of topics. On Friday evening consultant Nina Bowman, parent of two Thacher alumni and former trustee, led us in a lively discussion of best practices for boards. On Saturday we discussed and made plans for upcoming work by the board committees and heard a special presentation about Thacher's marketing plan for this year by Debra Smith, Director of Communications and Marketing. We also engaged in a discussion of this year's annual fund with Lisa Crist, Development Coordinator, and explored a variety of ways that each of us could support the annual fund, a critical element of Thacher's ongoing success. We ended our 8½ hours together invigorated and eager to work together for the good of the school.

After a full week of the school, we hope that everyone has settled into a smooth morning routine. It is very important that we keep morning drop off running efficiently so that there is not a back-up of cars on 138.  Please follow these guidelines to keep morning drop off running smoothly and safely:

-    Please pull up in front of the main entrance where a staff member will open the car door.  Children should exit the right side of your vehicle if at all possible.
-    Please let the staff member assist your child. Do not get out of your car in the car pool lane. If you need to get out of the car to help your child, please park your vehicle and walk your child to the front of the school.
-    If you arrive after 8:40 am, please park and walk your child to the front desk, where you can sign him/her in and where the office manager or other staff member can assist with a safe transition to the classroom, if needed.
 
Most children move past any initial difficulty at drop off and happily settle into the school routine once inside the building. Working together we can ensure a safe and efficient morning drop off of our children!

You can update the Additional Driver information at any time.  Your child will not be released to anyone who is not listed.
