Legislative WRPA - Current Events
Washington State Parks Transformation Strategy - The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, at the L&I Auditorium, 7273 Linderson Way SW Tumwater, Washington. At the meeting, the Commission will consider adopting an agency-wide strategy for developing revenues, achieving efficiencies, and expanding contributed support necessary to operate the state park system.  Members of the public are welcome to attend, and will have an opportunity to provide comment. Great News! Kaleen Cottingham was asked by Governor Inslee to continue as Director of the Recreation & Conservation Office and to be part of his administration.
 
WRPA members are reaching out to key legislators this week to encourage legislators to re-establish the Youth Athletic Field (YAF) Account with $3 million in the Capital Budget.

NACTO Bikeways Training Opportunity
The PSRC Growing Transit Communities Project and the four regional health agencies (Pierce, Kitsap, King, Snohomish) invite you to a facilitated workshop related to the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) Urban Bikeway Design Guide. The workshop is appropriate for traffic engineers and planners and will allow for the sharing of success stories as well as the identification of barriers and possible approaches to successful implementation.  More
