Candle reflection In today's Advent reflection, Catholic Climate Ambassador Nelson Araque writes:

"Advent is a time to prepare ourselves. This preparation requires opening our eyes and our ears to see those on the edges of our society. Bring them to healing by 'strengthening the hands that are feeble and making firm the knees that are weak'. Bring them to restore their dignity as children of God by making them feel at home. We are called to act in this way until that day when we see them as children of God upon whom God rejoices. Only then can we  proclaim with the evangelist, 'We have seen incredible things today.'"

URGENT ACTION! Before we get to our monthly e-Update below, our friends at Faithful America are asking us to contact Indiana Archbishop Tobin to encourage him to stand strong against pressure from the governor and others to refuse resettlement for a Syrian refugee family by Catholic Charities. You can click here to take action now.

And even though we're now deep into the Advent season, we're already busy preparing our best-selling reflection booklet for the Lenten season. We go to press on the Lenten booklet in a few days and need to get an accurate read on how many we need to print. Please take a few minutes this week and get in your orders for this incredible resource. Deadline is Friday, Dec. 11th. And if you're still looking for a great daily Advent resource, you can still purchase and download the electronic version of the Advent 2015 booklet (and see other Advent resources) by clicking here.

Today's e-Update -- our monthly digest of items from the past month and beyond which are still of interest or relevance -- includes quick links to resources for the Advent season, action alerts, news items, and more. We hope you'll take a few moments today or later this week to peruse these items and bring them to your practice of prayer, study and action.
