The big news coming out of the SOA weekend this year was the announcement that the 2016 major mobilization by SOA Watch will be moving to the U.S.-Mexico border next year. (There will still be a presence at Ft. Benning. Watch for details in the months to come...) This year's gathering marked 20 years for me since I first came to the SOA action. Around 500 of us gathered before the gates in 1995, and by the mid-2000's, over 25,000 of us were there calling for the closure of the School of the Americas. Pax Christi USA has been hosting its Friday evening program for the past 15 years, and over the years, thousands of Pax Christi USA members have made the trip to Columbus, GA.

We've posted photos and the program of our Friday evening event, as well as a link to the SOA Watch website where you can see video and more.

As always, we also want to extend a huge thanks to Roy, Henrik, Karolina and all of the staff at the SOA Watch who always coordinate such an amazing series of events and actions for this mobilization. You have our gratitude and admiration for the work you do!

To everyone who came out this year, and in all the years before, we say thank you. And we hope you'll continue to work to "shut down the SOA!" See you at the border next year!

In Christ's peace,

Johnny Zokovitch

Director of Communications, Pax Christi USA
