Charleston Fashion Week: Bridal Show
Springtime in Charleston ushers in a bevy of fabulous public festivals and events to tickle the fancy of most consumers. Between wildlife, wine & food, fashion, sport and the arts, our city has its bases covered.
Since 2007, Charleston Fashion Week (CFW), held under tents in  Marion Square, has become the Southeast's premier fashion event, drawing attendees from all over the country. The Baker Motor Company CFW culminates with the Charleston Weddings Magazine's Spring Bridal Show on Saturday, March 23. The Bridal Show features original gowns from national and regional designers, bridal accessories, cocktails & culinary treats from select local caterers, including Hamby Catering & Events!

Shrimp & Grits, Japanese-Style.
 For this year's BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival, Hamby participated in the Saturday, March 2nd Festival After Hours event, presented by The Art Institute of Charleston. The unseasonably chilly temperatures kept guests hopping from station to station, sampling the exotic culinary delights from some of Charleston's top chefs. The Visitors Center Bus Shed was decked out in flags from across the globe and swank lounge areas dotted the lively event space. Along with food samples from these purveyors, there were adult beverages, music, and performers to entertain the crowd.
In keeping with the "Party Around the World" theme, Chef John Brunski was tasked with selecting one country and infusing local ingredients into that chosen international cuisine. Chef opted to serve up one of Hamby's classic favorites with a decided nod to  Japan. Enter shrimp & grit sushi with spicy tasso mayo and wakame "collards." This Lowcountry twist on a Japanese mainstay proved to be quite the hit with attendees. In fact, we've already added the S+G sushi to a few client menus who fell in love at Festival After Hours.

Hamby "Spotted" Contest Winner
 You may remember the start of the Hamby Spotted Contest a fe w months back when the new Hamby branded fleet hit the streets of Charleston. We have enjoyed receiving snapshots from many clients of the Hamby vans around town, and selecting a winner was tough! The luck of the draw goes to Kim Riley of Daniel Island who spotted one of the Hamby vans on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant! Kim will get her pick of 2 boxes of Hamby tea sandwiches, available for pickup at Hamby with 24 hours advance notice.
The contest continues, because we LOVE to hear from you! Send in your snapshots of the Hamby vans around town for your chance to win Hamby tea sandwiches! NOTE: Do not snap photos while driving; ask for help from your passenger!
