This middle school unit reinforces an accurate image of  agriculture while inviting students to explore important concepts related to personal growth such as: building healthy relationships to avoid bullying, knowing one's personal values and discovering the value of learning from others.

Materials address Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and National Health Education standards and they allow students to jump into the life of a young rancher by reading a short novel.
