Reminder
Stewardship Sunday is April 24, 2016
"Keep the Fire Burning"

Please remember to come to church on Sunday, April 24, 2016. Breakfast will be served at 9:30 am and the Worship service will begin at 10:30 am with Bill Ames in the pulpit.

As is our tradition in recent years, you will write out your pledge in the Sanctuary during a special time in the service. We will collect them in the Pledge Communion bowl as we walk to our closing circle.

For more indepth information, see the previous newsletter article.
There will be RE for the children.

How does Unity Church make your life better? I encourage you to take a few minutes and really think about how Unity Church improves your life. Maybe you've been cared for in your time of need. Or you've had the opportunity to care for someone else. Perhaps you feel recharged after the Sunday morning respite from your hectic week. Or you grow personally after reflecting on the service leader's message. You might enjoy the company of people outside your weekly "circle" whom you would not meet outside of church. Or you appreciate the feeling of being part of something much larger than yourself. A feeling of spiritual connection might move you. Maybe you feel proud when Unity serves the wider community. My guess is that Unity Church makes your life better in these and many more ways.

What is it worth to you? As the saying goes "You don't know what you've got until it's gone." To appreciate "what you've got" take a few minutes to imagine what your life would be like if it were gone. What void would be created in your life if it weren't for Unity? ... Now that you know "what you've got" and how much of a positive impact Unity has on your life - what is this all worth to you? It takes a lot of time and money to make Unity what it is. What are you willing to sacrifice to keep what you've got, and just as importantly, to make sure others can have it too?

How will you contribute? Both the nominating committee and the stewardship committee are out in full force working hard to gather the time and money needed to support the miracle that is Unity Church. I encourage you to reach deep - into your calendars and wallets - so that your contribution reflects the value of Unity.

Yours in Service,

Jason Gold, President

In Worship

April Theme:   Renewal

April 24: Bill Ames, preaching. Stewardship Sunday. Breakfast at 9:30 and Worship Service at 10:30.

May Theme: Mindfullness
May 1 : "Paying Attention." Reverend Richard Trudeau, preaching. Richard had an experience with some weeds that caused him to feel he had been taught a lesson.  But he had trouble deciding what the specific lesson was. Was it, "Stop and smell the flowers"? or, "Every cloud has a silver lining" or, "The best things in life are free"?  He finally decided it was, "Life is better if you pay attention."

May 8: Mother's Day. Multi-generational Sunday Service. Deanna Greenstein, preaching.
May 15: Jennifer and Victoria Gold, preaching.

The CommUnity Closet still needs a coordinator for volunteers.

There is a room full of laundered clothes hanging in Holly House, just waiting for the CommUnity Closet to open.  There are people who need this clothing, given freely without proof of need. The time is now to meld these two together.  An initial business plan is available to be review by one or two people. There has been contact with a few organizations that are willing to bring people to the CommUnity Closet in a van. Volunteers are ready to help with the staffing.
Are you willing to step up to foster this service to people in our community?
