The CommUnity Closet is ready for a manager, or a head honcho, or an organizer, create your own title.

There is a room full of laundered clothes hanging in Holly House, just waiting for the CommUnity Closet to open.  There are people who need this clothing, given freely without proof of need. The time is now to meld these two together.  Before she headed west, Jannelle Codianni created a business plan to do just that.  Now we need one or two people to review the plan and put it in place.  There has been contact with a few organizations that are willing to bring people to the CommUnity Closet in a van. Volunteers are ready to help with the staffing.
Who is willing to step up to foster this service to people in our community?

Hands & Flames  Religious Education Reminder

Spring Religious Education will begin on April 10th! Spirit Play will resume at this time, and we will be returning to our classroom in Holly House for the spring session.

Volunteer teachers and assistants are needed. Please contact Deanna Greenstein for more information.

Thank you to our amazing children for the hard work they put in to their winter service! Not only was the service itself a moment of pride, the childrens' dedication to their individual service projects is beyond admirable. Our greater community is benefiting in so many ways as a result of these projects, many of which are ongoing throughout the spring. We should all be proud of our youth for bringing Unity into the CommUnity! If you would like to be involved in any of the projects that you heard about during the Children's Chapel service, please contact Deanna, and she will point you in the right direction!

Please contact Deanna Greenstein for more information!

Michael Achey recommends
Free Electricity - Really

Federal and state tax incentives combined with a carbon tax which pays solar energy producers a steady income for electricity produced by their panels creates a way for many homeowners to purchase residential solar electricity systems at nearly no cost.

The current highly beneficial program has a limited number of slots left.
ACT NOW if you are interested.
AVOID LEASING -you give up all the incentives.

Click on my name to send me an email Cheryl Brigante if you are interested.

Holly Memorial Service for Holly Bell

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Congregational Unitarian Society of Bernardston, 46 Church St.,
Bernardston, MA.  A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.

Rev. Bell was ordained to the ministry in 1973 by the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church of Greenfield, MA. From 1973 to 1974, she served as Chaplain to the Franklin County Public Hospital of Greenfield, MA.

In 1974, she was called to serve as minister to Unity Church of North Easton, MA, and she held that position for the next 25 years. Upon her retirement from the ministry in 1999, she was voted Minister Emerita of Unity Church.

In Worship

March Theme:  Generosity

March 27: "Birth and Death and No Birth and No Death." Easter Suday. Reverend Judith Wright, preaching. For Christians this is "the Day of Days," for this day celebrates Jesus' resurrection, his becoming the Living Christ. For all of us, as Unitarian Universalists, this is a day to celebrate the letting go of the old, of that which has died within us and around us, and opening up to the newness in our lives in the days ahead. We will welcome spring with music from the United Brass, Leslie Amper on piano and Jordan Potash on the organ.

April Theme: Renewal

April3: The Blue Green Hills of Earth. Katelyn Haven, preaching. An important part of Unitarian Universalism is the sense of mystery and wonder that triggers a "wow!' feeling inside us. We celebrate this Earth Day a bit early (actual date is April 22nd) and will use our imagination to draw our gaze outward - all the way to the Milky Way galaxy.  Unity Church Hand Bells will be played.

April 10: "Beyond Partisan Division." Reverend Paul Sprecher, preaching. Unitarian Universalism has been sometimes been described as "The Democratic Party at Prayer." Are we truly welcoming to people of every description - politically?

April 17: Patriot's Day. Come and join us at the Foxborough Universalist Church! This will be a 5 Points Cluster Service for worship and children's Religious Education.

April 24: Bill Ames, preaching.

UCAN Colorform Logo 03Dec2012 CommUnity Closet Needs

The CommUnity Closet, a shop in Holly House that will provide free gently used clothing to families in need, is coming to life!  We're on our way to creating a beautiful shop together.  Here are some things we need:
  • We need some folks to do the Laundry! Up in the White Room are pre-bagged loads of laundry, inside the bag you will find another bag for you to place the clean and folded clothes in and bring back to church. If you decide to take more than one (thank you!) please keep them separate, as the clothes have already been sorted into types.
  • We need hangers!
  • Mailing letters and following up with local businesses!
  • Money! Have no time, but a bit of spare cash? There are a few items needed that will need to be purchased. If you would like to donate the money to purchase the items off the Wish List, please send your check to Unity with CommUnity Closet in the memo line.
I am so excited about this project! I am wrapped in the joyful feeling of helping to create a space that will hopefully help people who are in the middle of a struggle feel loved and cared for, while bringing our Church Mission to life in a truly tangible way. I encourage you to take the opportunity to be involved in this powerful ministry.  - Jason Gold.

Remember these important dates !
